Not a favourite place!
Pros:

The location. We were 8 cyclists so needed to be close to town. The loft rooms were very nice but the garden room and Suite were very tired. Staff were pleasant.

Cons:

There was no hot water. The towels were very old, the shampoo was cheap and did not lather . The rooms were the priciest on our trip but did not include breakfast. We were charged R190 per person for very average fruit, cereal and meusli. We felt ripped off with that. It should have been included in the high room rate.

Pros:

Pros:

Nice lodge surrounded by lavender fields in a small town. Quaint and quiet. Room well equipped.

Cons:

As far as I can remember I have never slept ON a bed as hard as this one, felt like a solid rubber block.

Pros:

Staff were great. Breakfast and dinner were fabulous.
Room was great.

Cons:

I slept in the loft which was a little hot and stuffy. My mums slept downstairs
The tariff was expensive.

Lovely farm stay, yet central
Pros:

The location, it’s near the town centre and yet in the middle of a lovely lavender farm. The staff were great and they provided nice food for breakfast and dinner if you wanted it.

Cons:

Pool is just for dipping into when hot, as it is very small.

Lovely guesthouse
Pros:

Lovely guesthouse, enjoyed the little pool and refreshments upon arrival. The room was good with a lovely big bed.
Shower is spacious.

Cons:

The TV did not work, no DSTV although that was advertised. The shower got cold quickly - even with water shortages one does want to shower and shave atleast but the water got cold very quickly.

A wonderful surprise stop – truly exceeded expectations
Beausoleil in Bonnievale turned out to be a real highlight of our trip. This stop was not originally our first choice and was more of an alternative along the route, but it completely won us over.
The food was excellent. We had both breakfast and dinner, and everything was prepared with great care and attention to detail. Dinner was a lovely three-course menu, freshly cooked on site, and breakfast offered a very good selection with a buffet – all high quality and beautifully presented.
The location is very peaceful and scenic, surrounded by nature. We also visited nearby vineyards and did a Chardonnay wine tour just down the road, which fit perfectly with the stay.
The small ranch atmosphere is charming, with lots of thoughtful details like lavender plants and little lavender sachets, which added a very personal and authentic touch. You can really feel the love that goes into this place.
Overall, a very positive surprise that truly impressed us. A calm, welcoming place with great food and a wonderful setting – highly recommended.
