We had an excellent stay and the staff was very friendly and helpful will recommend to anyone
Pros:

The place is quiet and in a safe area. Even though there was no breakfast, we could make use of the kitchen which was always clean

Abysmal.
Pros:

The management of Cub home are absolutely wicked. The rooms as advertised was not what I was given. I paid what was given at a high rate due to the Mining Indaba conference taking place in Capetown at the time. However, they initially wanted to pput me in a room with shared restroom facilities, which I rejected on account of how much I paid. They finally gave me a private room, ensuite... however, I saw roaches in the room! The next day, the toilet flushing mechanism broke down, they had to call someone to fix it. The guy was left under the sun whilst waiting for hours for parts to fix the WC with, I had to give him some money for lunch by myself, seeing this elderly man look stressed.

To make matters worse, after 3 days the management decided - without asking if I was extending my reservation to kick me out, stating that I had only paid for 3 days. I informed the man that I paid for 3 days because I was not sure of what I was coming to meet in terms of the facility, but I had cash to pay for the remaining days of my stay in CT. He refused, claiming he had already taken another booking and I had to vacate immediately even though I made it clear that Cape Town at the time had a scarcity of accommodation options due to the conferences taking place that February 2026. The man insisted I leave and when his wife tried to intervene having heard my counter arguments, he almost beat her up right in my front. I had to let him know that if he touches his wife, I will have no choice than to physically stop him. That was when he calmed down and kept shouting that I should leave or he calls the police. This was disheartening, annoying and an all-round waste of my resources (money and time). I felt disrespected and distressed over this situation.

I really do NOT RECOMMEND CUBS HOME for anyone, only use it if you have no other choice.

Cons:

The service from the host, the room had roaches and the way they take bookings regardless of if someone is already occupying the room and willing to extend + financially capable of extending, is absolutely shambolic.

It’s a good stay and affordable, perfect if the remote gates and new mattresses to beds addded
Pros:

Close to everything and safe, staff excellent, home well kept and clean

Cons:

No remote control gates, bed mattress really old and not comfortable to sleep in, just needs to be changed

The house keeper Saidie was 100% at service. He is the reason why I will go there again. He was so good and kind to me. He helped me with a warm blanket, cooked for me which wasn’t part of my package. He was willing to show me around. The place was too good. The house owner needs to really applaud this guy he is the reason why everyone will like to revisit the place. This place exceeded my expectations. I want to use this platform to say thank you to Saidie the house keeper. He was at great service. Safety was 100% · I loved everything
