It was the best hostel in all Sri Lanka!

Todo. El lugar es increíble, la vista es hermosa, al igual que Charlie y Lassi. Queda muy cerca de Ella, pero alejado del bullicio y el camino es es muy bello, entre los campos de té. Chuti un gran anfitrión, está presente en cada detalle. El desayuno es riquísimo y hecho con mucho amor.

Echt een top locatie voor Ella! Het hostel, wat je overings meer kunt ziens als homestay, is net buiten het centrum. Via een smal pad ben je in 10 minuten in het centrum. Het hostel is relaxed, een goede plek om even tot rust te komen, maar ook een plek ook gewoon lekker te kunnen ondernemen. Zeker een aanrader wanneer je in Ella bent!! Daarnaast is de eigenaar echt super vriendelijk en helpt met alles!!

茶畑に囲まれた素敵なところでした。バスの予約が取れなくて困っていたところ、予約を取った上，朝早くにバス停まで送っていただきました。有り難かったです！

Je devais rester 3 nuits et j’y suis finalement resté 1 semaines, un endroit calme parfait pour ce reposer!! Le centre ville est à 10 minutes à pied grâce à un raccourci à travers les champs de thé !! Le breakfast est très bon grâce à un super hôte Chuti !!!

Where to even begin?! I had the BEST stay at Home Hostel Ella. The owner of the hostel, Thudi (apologies if I have spelled that incorrectly!) was so kind and welcoming. On my first day, he took me and two other guests to a waterfall, for a special lunch with a local family, and to a temple. The place is right next to tea plantations and away from the hustle and bustle, but a short walk through the tea fields into town. You get a delicious breakfast every morning prepared by Thudi, there is a water filter to fill up your bottle, and hot showers. Thudi’s lovely cat Charlie and loyal dog Lesse are always there to welcome you into their cosy home. I had SO much fun here and met some wonderful people, and to top it off, this hostel is incredible value for money. I will be back sooner rather than later. Don’t hesitate, just BOOK. Para mí viajar es adentrarse a la cultura, su comida y su gente, aquí me sentí muy a gusto, el dueño fue muy agradable y cercano! Me brindó su ayuda en lo que quise e hizo que mi estancia fuera más agradable! El lugar es bonito rodeado de campos de té! Tiene un lugar cerca donde puedes comprar té de la zona a muy buen precio, mejor que en muchas tiendas caras! El dueño lo compró ahí! Es un lugar tranquilo y no ostentoso, estarás relajado y alejado del ruido de la ciudad! A unos 15min caminando al centro! Sin duda os recomiendo este lugar!

Some previous guest wrote ‘One more night’ at the wall of Home Hostel. It’s so accurate - it’s hard to leave this place. I kept extending my stay and ended up by staying the double of what was my original plan, from three to six nights, haha.
The vibe at Home Hostel is very relaxed. Thjoti is a great, funny and welcoming host. His dog Lassi and his cat Charlie are the most hilarious and sweetest animals I’ve met. They made me laugh big time, so lovely.
The place has a great view, and is only a short walk from Ella center. If you look for somewhere peaceful where you only hear the songs from the birds rather than noise from the town, I highly recommend Home Hostel.
Thjoti also offers exploring in the area. He took me and some others guests to two really nice waterfalls and we went to see a 2000 years old temple, great experiences.

If you’re coming to Ella, there’s only one thing to do - book yourself a bed at Home Hostel.
Warning: make sure you have some extra time available, you might end up staying longer than planned. Thanks for all my friend. Only love

If you’re looking for a place that feels less like a hostel and more like a peaceful little home in Ella, this is it.

From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed not only by the beautiful surroundings but also by the warmth of the owner. He is genuinely kind, attentive, and always ready to help with anything you might need, recommendations, organizing transport, or simply making sure you feel comfortable. You can feel that he truly cares about his guests.

The mornings here are something special. You wake up to birds singing, soft mountain air, and the friendly faces of the hostel’s animals who greet you like old friends. There’s a calmness in this place that’s hard to describe, a quiet garden full of greenery, little sounds of nature, and a sense of peace that makes you slow down.

Breakfast is absolutely delicious and prepared with care. Sitting outside in the garden, surrounded by flowers and tropical plants, it feels like the perfect way to start the day.

Honestly, I could have stayed here for a month without any problem. It’s the kind of place where you don’t feel the need to rush around or constantly go sightseeing. The hostel itself has a charm that makes you want to stay, relax, read a book, listen to the birds, and simply enjoy being there.

If you come to Ella and want somewhere peaceful, welcoming, and full of heart, this place is truly special.

The view was amazing. I liked it so much that I hang out at the hostel all the time. The cat and the dog are great companies. The owner is a geniuily good person.

차 밭 사이에 위치한 매우 평화로운 곳.
야생 다람쥐, 앵무새와 함께하는 아침식사 시간은 환상적.
저렴한 가격임에도 매우 깨끗한 화장실에 또 한번 놀람!!

The owner was the best! Great breakfast and atmosphere.
Rent a Motorbike and ask him where to go and he will let you know the best places.
Make sure you take the shortcut in through the back way. It’s only a 10 minute walk from town and the train station this way
