Vatsalyam felt like home! Our stay was very comfortable. The rooms are very spacious and clean. The balcony with a beautiful view of Shimla hills was cherry on top. Even though it's outside the city center, the cabs were arranged for us by Asheesh at an affordable price. The homemade food prepared by Aunty was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the stay for everyone especially for someone who's coming to Shimla for the first time. We had a great time! Loved the chit -chat with uncle and will miss their dog (Uno)
We loved our time in the Sharda Family Homestay. It’s in a beautiful location. The home is very comfortable and clean. The food is the best food we have had in India. The family are welcoming and warm. We particularly enjoyed our talks with Mr Sharda.
We stayed at the homestay for 3 nights. Rarely have we experienced such hospitality and kindness as we received from Asheesh and the rest of the family. They were willing to aid and assist us in every request, provided incredibly tasty meals and offered a kind of soulfulness that you rarely come across.
I cannot recommend this home stay enough! Thank you for making our birthday celebrations such a memorable experience.
Liked the room and hosts very comfortable stay
The property was spotless, our room was spacious with a large scenic balcony. The bathroom was modern. Breakfast was varied and beautifully home cooked. We ate there each evening and thoroughly enjoyed the vegetarian food served to us and the company of Surinder our host’s father. Asheesh and his family were gracious hosts. We were delighted to meet them and to be their guests. We arrived as strangers and left as friends.
Everything about the property was perfect for our stay.

A wonderful stay. The room, our meal, the view, sunset on the hills and the lights of Shimla, it was all superb. A special thank you to the family, Asheesh, his father and Mr from Assam who made us feel so welcome in their home. My first ever 10 review.
Nothing at all.
An extremely lovely homestay away from the noise and crowds but close enough to Shimla to enjoy day trips. We all thoroughly enjoyed the wide range at breakfast and the delicious homec cooked evening meals. The rooms are very comfortable with lovely balconies from which to enjoy the wonderful sunsets. A big thank you to the hosts for their hospitality and for sharing their local knowledge and books with us.

Fantastic views over the valley and across to the town centre. Asheesh was an excellent host and we loved talking to his dad, who was so knowledgeable and very interesting. The other lad was also extremely helpful. Very comfortable, all the facilities and great food. Thanks to everyone there
Our visit was perfect. Asheesh and Ranjana are the perfect hosts. They are very friendly, really helpful with advice and organising our trips. Great to chat to and overall a delightful family. Our room was spotless, comfortable and the Outside terrace was perfect to sit and take in the stunning views! We had delicious dinner each evening, served by their lovely young helper who had a gentle disposition. The icing on the cake was their sweet and friendly Labrador dog, who loves to greet you and bring you a toy, with the best waggy tail ever!

Very nice place ! The room is clean, the food really good and the view is incredible. We enjoyed a lot our journey. Owners were very kind and they helped us a lot to book taxi and everything during our trip.. We recommend!
A beautiful and very comfortable and spacious room , with a great view from the terrace , delicious food and kind and attentive family who ran the place . Sparkling clean and good quality fixtures and fittings .
The property was down a steep and windy road , it was necessary to take a taxi to reach the centre , the family organised this for you though .

Place is slightly away from Mall road, won't recommend staying if only for a night.
Vatsalyam is very conveniently located just at the fringe of Shimla, about 4kms from Mall road. Asheesh was very helpful during my short stay in helping me with transportation and making me feel at home. Nice vegetarian food served with utmost care towards hygiene added to my comfort.
