Cons:

We booked for a winter rock climbing trip because the rooms looked cosy and were advertised as having heating and a nice place to relax. On arrival it turned out there is an additional charge of 10 euro per room per day for heating by ‘air conditioning’ (provides heating and cooling). This seemed excessive on top of the advertised room rate especially as winters are cold and summer very hot!

Without heating the rooms stayed very damp something I raised but seemed to be of little concern to our host. I asked for an extra blanket. This was provided however it was suggested the provided duvet and topper should be fine and I should have known it would be cold, which given I was standing in a huge down coat suggested I did. Blankets don’t help with the damp as I found out when I didn’t use the heater that night and when we had a power cut.

Generally the rooms are ok, if a bit tired compared to the photos and cluttered (but no kettle or basic crockery). The garden sitting area was overgrown, furniture not comfy, and communal area or ‘restaurant’ stank of cigarette smoke.

Warning - the water is extremely hot - normally a good thing but this had potential to scald!

Part way through our trip my friend’s girlfriend who had been camping elsewhere needed accommodation as her flight was cancelled so naturally we thought she could stay in his double room. Another 30 euro per night was demanded (this was after we returned quite late following a stressful day at the airport). This was a lot more than the difference between single and double occupancy advertised…

We ended up moving accommodation, in search of Xenia which we found in abundance as well as heating without question!!

Judging by older positive reviews I suspect proliferation of alternative accommodation up the valley and inflation (especially energy) have taken their toll however empathy towards guests and maintenance must surely be a priority.

Cons:

They do NOT take credit card for payment! How can you be on Booking and not take credit card???
I had to chase an ATM machine at 9pm 30 min drive away. ATMs in Turkey take 12% so I wasted 2hrs and I ended paying by bank transfer (but it takes 2-3 days).
There were other guests that stayed up late (way past 10:30pm) taking loudly in the yard and every night I had to ask them to quiet down (which they barely did!). It's not my job to enforce quiet hours in a hotel!!
The owners who live downstairs of my room smoked a lot and at night I could smell smoke in my room as I laid in bed.
Room floor was dirty.

Cons:

Room had a very strong fragrance/perfume smell which I'm allergic too.
AC not included in the price.
There was dust/dirt all over the bed sheet as if the room was vacant for a while and then the blankets were placed on top? I had to wipe off the entire bed.

Absolutely fantastic place with wonderful host
Pros:

I' with girlfriend arrived late at night: Mrs Demeter preliminary agreed for 1 a.m. check in, and kept in touch and was very understanding, when I called to say that I am going to be even later (Sorry for that).
The place itself is clean and lovely, with very green internal area, nice place to sit and talk or to have breakfast.
The room is clean and tidy, with fresh sheets and lots of pillows on the bed. And the red floor light was very appropriate at night ;)
The bathroom is equipped with spacious shower cabin.
Outside, there are pretty much places to dine in.

Many thanks to the host for the wonderful place to live and excellent communication.
10/10

Cons:

Pedestrian tourists might find the location too distant from the sea. But it is totally covered by very reasonable price, compared to other options in the area. I would advice this place if you travel with your own transport.
