Friendly and helpul staff! The staff helped us getting the last seats on the bus to Ho Chi Minh City, which turned out to be really difficult during the Tet holiday season. It is a nice mix between the friendlyness of a Vietnamese homestay and a private area in front of our own little house to relax. It was possible to rent a motorbike directly from the homestay.
The people here are so kind. The lady called the bus company for my next destination and had them come pick me near her house. They rent motorbikes (automatic or manual) for cheap. You can ask them to cook you breakfast or dinner. The place is lovely.
The bed was a little tough but it wasn't really a problem.
We stayed here for two nights, I wish we could have stayed longer. The family are so lovely, from the moment we stepped on the property it felt like home. The room was well furnished with desk and hanging space for clothes. The bed was a little hard but clean and comfortable enough. Bathroom had everything we needed. While things were a little basic, for the price I really couldn't fault anything. There was air con I think, but we didn't use it as the mountain air was cool enough. The family did everything to make our stay as comfortable and convenient as possible, renting us a Moto and helping us sort bus tickets to da nang, and helping us do our laundry. The dinner and breakfast was fantastic, home cooked fresh food with fresh fruit too. If I come back to kon tum I would stay here again without a shadow of a doubt.
As I said, bed was a little hard but nothing to complain about too much. I only mention as some people might not want this (if you had a bad back maybe).
The auntie and her son are lovely people, they are a real blessing. When I'm in Kon Tum I will definitely come back
The homestay was very authentic, and I came for the ability to try the “family meal,” which was indeed a feast and didn’t disappoint. My private room was very inexpensive, and quiet at night.
I want to give credit where credit is due, which is in the kindness of the homestay owners, and the food, which was excellent. That said, my sheets appeared unwashed with stains, bits of dead bugs on them, along with a blanket that was also stained. Neither smelled fresh. The windows did not have screens on them (an easy fix,) which would have made the experience far more pleasant. It was either get ravaged by bugs and mosquitos, or sweat to death with the windows closed. The towel provided was like a floor towel, and not big enough to wrap around one’s body. The cleanliness concern was noted in earlier reviews, and I really want to encourage the homestay to fix these things. It isn’t hard to do, and people do not want to sleep in filth. This is a non negotiable.
Rooms and dorms are in a walled family compound in the middle of a vegetable plot and with numerous flowers, sunflowers, dahlias, marigolds, roses...it is very picturesque.
Family meal is a gourmet treat and too much to eat at one time.
Nearby some local restaurants and a small locals market with very cheap prices.
The museum in Kontum turn left over the bridge is worth a visit,it's huge and has many exhibits of minorities way of life ,mostly in Vietnamese 10 K entrance.
Old manual motor bike for rent at 150 K per day was a little expensive.
Location is an hour walk from Kontum central or 40 K by motor bike taxi.
Such an incredibly beautiful place. Great chill vibes.
What an amazing place, we went for a couple of days and we ended up spending a week there! The property and the owners are amazing, we got a very cozy room with comfortable bed, a desk and a fan (we never used it though). The toilet is shared with two other rooms but there are more in case you need it, the shower has hot water. Wi-fi works really well also for videocalls. The enviroment is sociable but quiet, we had the family dinner on the first night and we spent an amazing night with other travellers. The location is a bit out of town but in a very quiet spot, they rent motorbikes in case you need one but there are various places for food around the homestay.
Cleanliness everywhere (garden to the room and shower room), quietness as little bit out of the main road, friendly family. The dinner was excellent.
The garden is really nice and the staff is amazing. They don’t speak much English but you can get by and they’ll call their daughter to translate if needed.
Dinner was one of the best we had in Vietnam, really tasty home cooked traditional food.
They were very responsive prior to our arrival and sent super detailed instructions on how to get there from Pleiku.
Everything amazing, the place, people, rooms. Incredible experience there! The only is the meals are a bit expensive, but is delicious!
Great breakfast and incredible owners! They really care about you and will do their best to help you out, even when it's outside of their requirements.
