I like the stay in a way that it is nearest to the cliff . But sctually they have hidden charges for the facilities they have already mentioned that they will prove that's bit sad, because when we talk about it the owner gets offended about the same .
Location
Owner was good room was bad
The whole room
The way owner treat us is really nice....He was helping in all ways to us in hiring rental bikes...Also help us to keep our luggage till ngt.....Very helpful
The location is really good.
We were expecting something basic, given that it's very affordable, but even the basics were missing - we were given one single bed sheet in 2, no hand soap, no bin in the room or bathroom, the single beds are too small (my husband is 5'9 /1.75 m tall and he couldn't fit in the bed and had to sleep diagonally across 2 beds with his feet out). But most of all, the air in the room is so damp, there is no fresh air and one wall is covered in mould - that is actually grim and unhealthy. It wouldn't take much effort to meet some basic standards - we slept in much more decent places in Kerala for the same price.
Ambiance
It is so clean and it’s a beautiful spot to stay with friends and family very clean and so peaceful and most importantly it’s near the north cliff beach just 2 mins walk and finally it’s worth to stay and budget friendly too.
Owner friendly and helpful. Very close to the beach and money worthy. Property owner was helpful finding places even recommended a guy for canoeing. Experience was good.
Pillows and bed does not have spread sheets. But got one after request. There is a pet dog inside the property that was unleashed. Luckily the dog was vaccinated up to date. It bit me and I had to visit a hospital in varkala for a vaccination. Unfortunately, some of the vaccinations were not available so I needed to travel another 10kms for another hospital. It took up my whole day to get vaccinated. I’m not sure if the owner of the dog is the property owner or the person living there as a long term tenant. But the property owner was helpful in finding the hospital and he also shared the vaccination documents. He said he will ensure the dog is on a leash from now on but when I came back from hospital, the dog was unleashed and was roaming around. I stayed there for four days and this incident happened on the very last day.
The location was very close to varkala cliff and varkala beach, hardly 200 metres
Lots of restraunts are there
The room was booked for with ac, however the owner asked an extra 500 per day for ac charges.
Secondly there were spider webs in the bathroom, and the bathroom utilities were not clean.
Varkala location and place is good for beach and surfing activities.
The host person dileep firstly seems to nice. I booked cottage for 4 person. However, my elder brother's son who was staying in kollam came to meet us at night and can't go back, so he planned to stay with us which I forgot to take permission from dileep. But suddenly dileep came out and started to shout out loud and saying me gp out. I am saying him sorry. It was my mistake for several times. Then he asked me to give 1000 rupees extra for my son. Then i transferred him at that time and told to stop shouting.
Control your anger sir, we all do mistakes. And you are running a business and it can be dealt easily. And nicely. And you are old , must be more than 65, so you should control. And don't be greedy always. Be happy and let others live that way. Let it go..
The beddings were clean. The staff were nice.
The walls in the room were covered in mold, and it was really hard to breathe because of the damp and mold. For a person with asthma like myself, it is very bad. There were litters everywhere around the cottage. The toilets were greasy and slimish. There was no WiFi. As a whole it was quite expensive compared to a lot of other places which are similar priced or even cheaper and much better maintained.
