Zu Hause am indischen Ozean.
Pros:

Sehr sauberes geschmackvoll eingerichtetes Zimmer, eigene Terrasse, kleiner Garten, direkt am Strand, wo man kilometerweit laufen kann und natürlich auch schwimmen. Äußerst freundliche Besitzer, die Wirtin kocht gut und wir wurden zum Tempelfest eingeladen, was sehr beeindruckend war.

Cons:

Es ist relativ weit entfernt von der Stadt entfernt, aber das macht auch den Reiz aus.

For a lid back experience without a tourist in sight - I would highly recommend
Pros:

Philo Samuel and Melody treated me as if I were their Son. They couldn't do enough for me. The Son Samuel took me sightseeing while the husband Martin who was working away arranged a houseboat for a night thus helping me avoid making poor decisions on future booking. Located on the beach it was the perfect place for me to re-discover myself withouyt a tourist in sight. Just wonderful kind local Kerelans.

Would definitely return next year for a week to re-kindoe my love for India and this amazing famikly

Cons:

It's Not Luxury but I've done 5 star all the way so far and I've never been more happier staying in more humble accomodation with such lovely people.

Superb
Pros:

Martin has managed to create an absolute oasis by the beach. The pictures barely do it justice - this place is so beautiful, the room were great, and the food has been fantastic. The hammocks in the garden invite to relax and it felt like a dream to fall asleep to the gentle sound of the ocean.
Martin and his family made us feel welcome from the start and have helped us with many tips on backwater tours, restaurants, and trains. We are really thankful to them.

Pros:

The best accomodation we have stayed in during our holiday in india . A true homely feeling with the most warm and caring hosts Martin and family. They do everything to make you feel relaxed . It is in the most amazing location with the soothing sounds of the sea that is a few meters and fully visible by the seaside room making the experience all the more relaxing. The rooms are very spacious, pleasant and extremely clean.The breakfast is delicious with many options available, with the option of arranging an equally delicious dinner also there. we also got to make friends with the other guest who were the most lovely people.overall an amazing homestay with the best hosts that I recommend wholeheartedly

Extremely disappointing experience.
When we arrived at the property, there was no one there to receive us. After calling the host, we were shocked to be told to either cancel the booking ourselves or pay extra money to stay. The host was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked him to cancel the booking from his end, but he didn’t even bother to do that. Thankfully, some kind local people helped us find an alternative place to stay. I’m appalled that a property owner can treat guests this way. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable.

Peaceful, friendly and beautiful surroundings.
Pros:

One of the best places I’ve stayed. Very relaxing, friendly, beautiful place. Super friendly host, good food, amazing beach and sunsets. We had great conversations with our host, help when we needed it and I will definitely come back. I highly recommend it

Cons:

We saw this property with good reviews and booked well before in time. We also paid the advance as well after the hosts asked for it. A few days later they called and said there’s been a mistake and that they have overbooked. They assured that they’ll make similar arrangements as the one we had originally booked. This was not the case. When we arrived, we were given a local home instead of the sea facing dorm that we had booked. The hosts were not kind enough to offer water either. We negotiated the price but still the value offered for the price was very less. I would not recommend the property. There are very less facilities around the property. Food, medicine, transport everything is atleast 3 km away.

Chilled beach stay
Pros:

- almost direct on the beach and you have the beach on your own till the crabs come out after sunset
- chilled atmosphere as u expect it from a place like this
- 1 h walk on the beach to Alleppey

Cons:

- matrace is to thin
- aircon is to weak to generate decent climate in the room (no idea how this shall work in summer)
- food so so
- crows are super noisy in the morning

Perfect, on the beach, good value.
Pros:

Right on the beach. Large room with terrace. Breakfast included in room rate which they forgot to mention. Charming hosts who cook great local food. In a fishing village surrounded by nature. Great value

Cons:

I didn’t mind it but this is fishing village beach and not a tourist beach. That means it can be grubby but a short walk along the beach it is clean. I didn’t see any human faeces in the sea report in other reviews. But an upside of it being a fishing community there are lots and lots of sea eagles and black and white egrets, crabs. There are also a lot of noisy crows!

Nice location at friendly, comfortable homestay.
Pros:

Good room, right on the beach among the fisherman. Nice terrace to sit and even had candlelit dinners. Martin and his parents were very warm and accommodating.

Cons:

Loo could do to be updated. Meals a little more expensive than expected. Sea too rough for swimming.

Relaxing stay
Pros:

The hosts were very warm and made sure we were comfortable and not hungry :)
We wanted to stay by the beach so the location was perfect, we went to sleep with the sounds of the waves.
Beach ambient was very chill, people were playing cards, fishing etc.

Cons:

The bathroom could be improved.

Everything about this place is amazing, location straight on the beach, view for sunset amazing, hospitality unbeatable, food is amazing, the most friendly place we have ever stayed can not recommend highly enough, the family who run it can not do enough to ensure you have a great stay
