Vor zwei Jahren dachte ich das Paradies gefunden zu haben. Aber nun musste ich feststellen, dass es einen weiteren
fantastischen Ort auf der Welt gibt. Bei der Ankunft waren wir ganz überrascht, dass unser kleines Häuschen quasi direkt am See liegt. Die ganz private Lage und der sehr zuvorkommende Service von Denith (ich hoffe den Namen habe ich richtig geschrieben) und seiner Frau waren einfach unfassbar. Am Abend konnten wir vom Hochsitz, auf dem wir auch essen konnten, von den Liegen aus die Vogelwelt beobachten. Am morgen blühten auf dem ganzen See Lotusblumen. Einfach herrlich zum entspannen nach einem kulturellen Tag. Durch die zentrale Lage konnten wir in kürzester Zeit Dambulla, Sigerija,Anadapura und einen Elefantenpark besuchen. Auch die direkte Umgebung lud zum spazieren gehen ein.
Da wir nicht alle Sehenswürdigkeiten geschafft haben, werden wir ganz bestimmt wieder kommen. Die 6 Tage haben uns definitiv gut getan. Danke an unsere sehr liebe Gastgeberfamilie

Delightful location for a smaller family run property on the outskirts of Habarana. Absolutely wonderful peaceful outlook over a water lily lagoon with beautiful water birds. Really friendly and helpful hosts who organised breakfast each day in an elevated platform overlooking the lagoon. Comfortable bedroom with mosquito nets (though I didn't encounter any mosquitoes), modern bathroom, nice outdoor terrace with table and chairs. Excellent base for visiting Pollonaruwa, Sigiriya, Minneriya, and the traditional dance show each evening in the local cultural centre is much better than the very crowded commercial ones at Kandy.

Lake Wind is an incredibly special Guesthouse. Surrounded by a lake and a thousand birds, it is tranquil, peaceful and relaxing. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Breakfast at the top of a tree house is magical, beautiful food lovingly prepared. Cold drinks on arrival to quench your thirst. But most importantly, the beautiful hosts Gamini and Jeevani are very precious people with very kind hearts. You are made incredibly welcome, they spoil you with their wonderful hospitality and kindness. So close to all the beautiful National Parks and safaris. Thank you so so much. Paula & John🌸

Eine super tolle Unterkunft und ganz lieben und hilfsbereiten Gastgebern. Das Essen war großartig und wurde auf dem tollen Außensitz serviert mit einem tollen Ausblick über den See. Das Zimmer war super sauber und sehr groß, die Betten sehr bequem. Hier wären wir gerne noch länger geblieben.

Danke, danke. Was für ein tolles Homestay. Das Haus ist total sauber und geräumig. Es gibt einen wundervollen Garten mit See. Auf dem Baumhaus, kann man Tiere beobachten, den Vögeln zuhören und einfach genießen. Das Frühstück wurde uns auf dem Baumhaus serviert. Es fehlte uns an nichts. Gamini und seine Frau haben uns herzlich bemuttert. Ayubowan.🙏

One of the most beautiful, serene and incredibly stunning places we stayed. Lovely, friendly and kind hosts who can’t do enough to help. I can’t describe how picturesque the place is - you have to see for yourself. It is the only place I have stayed and spent the next day deciding how I can make something this beautiful at home. We mostly stayed in high end and well reviewed accommodation which met our expectations during our three week stay in Sri Lanka, but nothing touched us in the way this place did. Truly beautiful and very special place with wonderful souls as hosts.

Wir hatten das Zimmer mit drei Betten (linkes Zimmer). Das Bett war bequem. Ein Moskitonetz vorhanden. Es gab nur wenige Mücken (März), trotz traumhafter Lage direkt am See. Eine Klimaanlage und warme Dusche sind vorhanden. Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber und geräumig. Die Hauswirte sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir haben das Frühstück und Abendessen dort genossen. Das bereitgestellte aufbereitete Wasser ist uns bekommen. Der Gastgeber gibt tolle Tips und organisiert Touren zu fairen Preisen. Er fährt auch selbst mit seinem Tuk Tuk. Eine Safari in den nahen Naturpark ist lohnend. Alle Naturliebhaber werden auf ihre Kosten kommen. Am See blühen Seerosen. Vom Freisitz aus lassen sich Adler, Ibis, Eisvögel und viele mehr beobachten.
Definitiv ein Platz an den man gerne wiederkommt.

Gastgeber sehr aufmerksam und freundlich, hat Ausflüge arrangiert. Frühstück sehr abwechslungsreich. Sehr schöne Lage am See.

This lake-side retreat was a complete delight. Our hosts could not have been more friendly and helpful. The view from the viewing platform over the water was beautiful and the bird life a joy to watch, The home-made dinners and breakfasts were delicious. We have stayed in many homestays and cannot rate this particular homestay too highly. Superb!

Great location, just next to the lake. Cosy rooms with a nice terrace. Really good SriLankan breakfasts. Kind and very helpful host. We can recommend this place everyone. Thank you!

This is one of the best places we stayed in! My partner and I stayed here for four nights, and we felt totally pampered :)) Apart from the amazing room and views, what we absolutely loved were the delicious home-cooked fresh meals and the hospitality of the hosts! He also drove us to Sigiriya, Polonnuwara, and Dambulla for a great price! And later, packed us a little snack for free while leaving.

We are definitely coming back here and is a must-stay for anyone travelling through Sri Lanka!

This homestay has a wonderful natural setting in a lush garden on the edge of a lake, about 20 minutes walk from the centre of Habarana. It is peaceful, though there is some low noise from the distant highway and, during my stay, the occasional throb of music from a neighbour. The 3 rooms are clean and comfortable, with both aircon and fans. Good local meals are available. The helpful manager can arrange excursions. Good value for money.

Wunderschöne Unterkunft perfekt in die Natur eingebettet. Einfach ein Traum. Man könnte dort den ganzen Tag sitzen und die Natur beobachten. Die Gastgeber sind sehr liebe Leute und erfüllen einem jeden Wunsch. Das Essen ist wunderbar. Einfach Traumhaft!!!

Everything! Probably our favourite stay in Sri Lanka. Fabulous breakfasts and the staff could not have been more helpful. Stunning location ...beautiful sunsets over the lake.
