Pros:

Room 88 war der perfekte übernachtungsort. Auch ohne auto konnte ich das zentrum und die
strände zu fuss gut erreichen. John war zuvorkommend und sehr hilfsbereit.

Okay but unfortunately, wouldn’t stay again.
Pros:

Room was tidy with space for luggage and a hanging robe, thick sheets and a large towel. If you drive, was central enough to many places (though not really walkable). Host was friendly. Large backyard.

Cons:

Check-in wasn’t super flexible and a key lockbox would be great. The twin room is right off the kitchen so is VERY loud and you can even hear whenever another person uses the bin. Bring earplugs and an eye mask, even if you aren’t a light sleeper.

Stay with John for your next trip to Devonport!
Pros:

John is an excellent host, the accommodation was a perfect fit for my situation, and it was fairly priced for 2 nights compared to the surrounding places.

Cons:

Anything I can think of would be related to the accommodation not being 'hotel-level', but that overlooks the value for money and the experience that Room@88 provides as like 'staying over with a local'.

Great location and really friendly host
Pros:

Great location, John is a wonderful host. Comfortable bed and good bathroom.

I was there during Christmas time and definitely enjoyed the festivities at the house with everyone that came by.

John, the landlord, is amazing! The property is beautiful and very peaceful. Unfortunately we got a very crowded moment and we can’t stay longer, but we will come back if we will get a chance!

Pros:

Room was neat and comfortable we were there to rest and just have a couple of nights away so was exactly what we needed for a great price and the owner was great

Cons:

The only thing I would recommend would be a tv in the room not essential but would make it better for people staying to rest in the room

The host John was incredibly welcoming!
The place is comfortable and cozy 😊, and having access to the washing machine and dryer was a huge help for us!
If I have the chance to travel here again, John’s place will definitely be my first choice 👍.
