Man er i gode hænder her.
A conseiller.
The place is charming. We loved everything about the place - the courtyard with bougainvillea, the cozy dining room, the vegetable patches. the food , the hospitality and the advice given to us.
The design of the rooms is lovely. It uses local handicrafts - I especially liked the embroidery , and our daughter liked the window niche where all her toys could sleep. You can feel it is done with love and attention to detail. The shower had really hot water. Everything, of course, is impeccably clean.
The food is great. The milk products come from their own cow and many veggies come from their garden. Given the fact that the food is vegetarian, the variety is amazing. It tastes great - real Indian homemade food! You even feel a little bit like part of the family.
Gajendra arranged a great guide for us to show the havelis. - the reason for our coming.
We took a camel card to drive through the surrounding fields.
Do not miss a cooking class! I was hesitating at the beginning as I took so many cooking classes already. Luckily, our daughter insisted. It might be the best cooking class I ever took. Gajendra and Gayatri showed us everything - the techniques, the old and new kitchen appliances, the local plants and, of course, many spices. For example ghee was shown from the milk (from their cow) stage through curd stage to butter stage. Some recipes were that local that it is difficult to translate the names of the ingredients. It was a highlight of our trip. And it was amazingly tasty. It was unforgettable.
All in all we had amazing time. Would happily stay a bit longer.
Everything is great. Nothing to add. May be I would enjoy a whirlpool bath or massage to add to an amazing feeling of relaxation you get when you stay on this ecofarm.
Apani Dhani is a green oasis next to the village of Nawalgarh (which is within walking distance). The room was beautiful, calm and clean. The bathroom was fully equipped and the shower worked great :) The dinner and breakfast were super tasty.
Ramesh is a super friendly owner who is proactive in reaching out offering great advice and help. He was super flexible when we arrived later then expected, which was really reassuring.
Everything was great.
Just some advice for next travellers: try to come early to enjoy this place.
The warm hospitality of Gajendra ji and his wife Gayatri. Couldn’t meet Ramesh ji, his father who was travelling.
Food was sumptuous, clean, freshly made and served with love. Rooms were clean, good linen and modern toilets.
Most of the food is grown in house as it’s a big property with their own fields to grow vegetables and grains.
Perfect rural setting with urban amenities.
Little rigid about rules.
This stay has been a highlight in our India trip. The property is set in the families small organic farm and is tranquil and beautiful. Care has been taken to provide a practical and aesthetic experience. The rooms are stunning, cleanest I have experienced in India and everything works. The bed was so comfortable with soft white sheets and gorgeous simple decorations.
The family are consciously trying to lead a healthy and environmentally sound life and as a guest you can participate as much in this as you want ie. eat the set menu from the vegetable garden at a certain time or do you own thing in town, catch shower water and water the garden etc
Filtered water is provided cheaply to fill water bottles and great advise to organise painted house/ Haveli tours if the area (a must if in the region). I wish we could have stayed longer just relaxing and doing a few tours.
Oh breakfast can be enjoyed with Kerala coffee from a French Press... how fabulous!!
Nothing it is beautiful.
Our stay was incredible ! Heartwarming thanks to the whole hosting team who is super welcoming and have a very noble mission 🙏🏻 the courtyard is beautiful and the food comes directly from the garden and is delicious. The rooms are also beautifully decorated and I had the hottest shower ever while in India. Incredible and sustainable place, we were excited about the solar panels!
We absolutely adored our stay at The Eco Lodge during December — it has truly been the highlight of our 3-week journey through India so far. After arriving in Delhi, the eco-lodge was a peaceful, welcoming retreat. What made our time here so unforgettable was not just the charm of the lodge itself, but the warmth and hospitality of the family who made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.
The home-cooked meals, prepared by Gayatri , were beyond words — each dish a masterpiece, rich with flavour and love- the best Indian food we have ever tried. The beauty of the lodge and its vibrant bougainvillea, was the perfect setting to unwind.
One of the most inspiring parts of our stay was seeing how the extended family lives in such harmony with the land and with each other. Their deep respect for nature and sustainable living left a lasting impression on us. We also enjoyed learning to prepare traditional Rajasthani dishes, which added an extra layer of connection to the culture and community.
From the homemade chai to the rejuvenating lemon and ginger teas, everything made with love. The organic vegetables were delicious, and the sense of peace and care that permeated every part of the lodge made it impossible not to feel a sense of calm.
Excellent ambiance, and great food.
Wonderful self sustaining eco-lodge in the midst of a rural setting….the family are gracious hosts and the simple satvic vegetarian food is delicious….
