Horrendous!! If you would like my husband’s email address it is doug@squires-gear.co.uk where he will be able to supply
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

It was dirty & it stank. The bedding was not clean & my grandson had to sleep in his clothes. There was a mousetrap in the pantry & three more in the airing cupboard & my husband has photographic evidence of these. I wasn’t there but my husband was reluctantly staying there with our grandson. The windows were filthy & the garden completely unkempt. The cottage was full of spiders & the whole experience was horrendous.

A good bed and a very nice breakfast in a rustic home hosted by a nice man.
Pros:

Breakfast was great. Richard did an excellent job and provided vegan croissants and oat milk to accommodate our allergies. He was very kind and pleasant. The house is quite rustic and charming in that way.

Cons:

Sounds in any room are pretty audible from other rooms - limited privacy. There is no AC and with the extreme heat, that was a bit difficult. There are also no blackout curtains (or any on some windows). A few bugs due to open windows and no screens.

Lovely stay with a lovely host
Pros:

Richard was a wonderful host! He made sure we had everything we needed, the breakfast provided was delicious, particularly the homemade honey! We got stuck in Hay after attending wedding and he came and rescued us, which we were so grateful for! Overall a brilliant stay & a really lovely host.

The worse place we have ever stayed and felt trapped we knew we had to stay overnight
Pros:

Nothing

Cons:

The room was dirty with spiders and cobwebs everywhere.(photos to prove this) The sheets were dirty with holes in overall awful. We had to sleep on top of the bed with our outdoor clothes on. We are both in our 70's travelled all day, and it was after five when we arrived so could not find anywhere else to go.

Short break in hay
Pros:

Breakfast was lovely with homemade jam & honey and hot croissants. Having our own bathroom and bedroom away from the main part of the house was lovely. The room was lovely and tidy. Richard was an amazing host and had a great conversation and was friendly. Can't wait to come back again. Brilliant location

Wonderful and cosy
Pros:

The landlord was very welcoming and prepared himself a delicious breakfast with home made croissants, jam and honey. The cottage is his house that has been converted very nicely into guest lodging as well. Some 10 minutes driving to Hay-on-Wye.

Magnifique maison ancienne où l'on se sent bien. Le propriétaire Richard est adorable, il nous a servi des petits-déjeuners délicieux avec du miel et des confitures maison. Calme garanti.

Great place to stay if you like old buildings.
Pros:

Amazing old half-timbered cottage with lots of character. Richard, the owner, bakes fresh croissants for breakfast and makes his own honey and jam, followed by poached egg on toast. Small and personal.
