Staff, hotel, breakfast, everything
Not a thing
Amazing views from the Terrace staff could not have been nicer room and amenities beyond good
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and truly enjoyed every aspect of it. The staff were extremely polite and welcoming, making us feel comfortable from the moment we arrived. The location is fantastic, with beautiful surroundings and convenient access to everything we needed.
The food was absolutely lovely, with a great variety to choose from, especially at breakfast where there was something for everyone. We also appreciated the nice room service and well-maintained facilities throughout the hotel.
One of our favorite highlights was the lovely terrace with stunning views — a perfect place to relax and unwind. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience, and we would happily stay here again.
There was nothing not to like about it.
Had no time for breakfast unfortunately due to appointment.
A Dinner menu with meals between R100 - R200 of choice to also be available for local Capetonians.
Todo o Hotel me capturou. É um charme e nos deixa completamente à vontade.
A equipe é descolada e carinhosa.
Os espaços exteriores possuem uma jardinagem singular, bem cuidada.
Os cantos de leitura, espalhados pelos salões, são convidativos .
E a comida, ah, a comida! Inesquecível.
Em resumo: o Dorp parece a nossa casa porque nos sentimos acolhidos.
Gostei absolutamente de tudo.
Everything was perfect, the staff, the setting, views, clean, well considered decor
Nothing really, could have been better lighting in the bathroom but that’s literally it
Something different, the views were good, the rooms were well done.
Some of the staff were aloof, alittle pretentious, they are well known for their food, thought it was below average
Lovely breakfast
Old world luxury
Lots of stairs
There is nothing not to like about this special place. The staff are the magic that you feel from the moment you walk in. The breakfast is superb and the rooms are intimately designed. I keep coming back for more.
I can't fault any of it - truly. Even my tired legs walking up the stairs and hill will have to forgive me.
One must pinch oneself to remember that every bit of architecture and decoration that you see and experience are artificial and not a friendly, familiar family home. Everything is magnificently curated. All members of staff are all the most gracious people imaginable, and make the movie set a warm and memorable place.
Although we personally love everything at the Dorp, there is a clear disconnect between the plantation-style ante bellum of the hotel and the politically charged surrounding Bo Kaap. Perhaps one of the many (empty) public spaces could be fitted out as a reading room with literature about the history, politics and even religion of the people of the Bo Kaap. The person who chooses the Dorp above the One and Only would probably appreciate a realistic grounding as one finds in sophisticated places such as Belfast.
- amazing views of Cape Town
- very cool interiors
- great breakfast
- friendly staff
- more guidance / orientation on arrival (we arrived late and had no idea what items in the mini bar were complimentary) to the hotel or Cape Town
- our room wasn’t very private. The window of the bathroom needed to be closed at all times as it lead into the communal eating area
Everything. The staff were warm and welcoming, seeing to our every need. The grounds and rooms were immaculate and the views were spectacular. Great stay! We didn’t want to leave.
