Inna was SO lovely! She even let my daughter and I arrive early to our accommodation and met us with keys. I also felt very safe in our room and the location was amazing! It meant we could walk to shopping by spots, darling harbour and places for dinner.
The location is amazing. Easy walk to foot and transit.
Someone peed behind our car in the carpark
The location was perfect and the size of it was perfect for 2-3 people
The cleanliness levels were below par and the service provided wasn’t up to what we usually receive - when we arrived to the accommodation and we were left waiting for quite some time outside the building with all our bags without being let into the lobby. The man who let us into our room (who isn’t the owner of the accommodation) didn’t seem to know much as when asked questions he didn’t know the answers to same. There was no cleaning services provided to us for our 4 night stay - we even asked for more toilet paper and were told no. The room also had quite a lot of cockroaches which was not nice
Uncomfortable
Location was the only positive thing
It was feral, outdated , mould and car parking over 4 nights was in excess of $300
It was very central.
Inna was pleasant and friendly.
This place was grotty and dated and I quickly realised that 5 nights was waaaay too long to stay here.
There was one quite flat pillow each, and just sheets, no duvet or blanket on the beds. (There were some grotty looking old blankets in the cupboard.) There was one smallish towel each, which might once have been white - now both worn out. I did get an extra two towels and pillows when I requested them after the first night.
While the sheets were clean and white, everything else felt a bit grubby. I didn't really want to put my head near the silky headboard which looked stained, so slept at the other end. The beds were very uncomfortable.
I chose a place with a balcony so we could sit out after a day's sightseeing. As it turned out, the balcony was a tiny little space with a couple of chairs and a dirty air conditioning unit. There were buildings on all sides, so you could barely see the sky let alone get any sun, and it looked out onto a filthy roof which had various items of cutlery on it. Most things were coated in a thick layer of city grime, including the sopping wet item of clothing that was just on the edge of our balcony.
The kitchen had very basic items with such cheap cutlery it put my fillings on edge - no wonder people had thrown it off the balcony!
The door to the apartment was so ill-fitting in its frame, you could see a band of light all the way around it. This also meant smells from other apartment's cooking permeated this space.
I appreciate Sydney is expensive, but I had expected a slightly nicer experience for the money we paid.
The only good thing about it is the location
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was one of the worst accommodations I have ever experienced.
First of all, the rooms are advertised for up to 6 people, but they clearly do not have the space or proper beds for that number. Some of the beds looked broken and rotten, as if they had not been used or replaced in a very long time. The mattresses were extremely uncomfortable and the pillows caused neck and body pain. I am not a picky person at all, but sleeping there was impossible, you will prefer to sleep over the floor than in those beds. A room for 6 people would only fit if one person slept in the bathtub.
The prices are completely unreasonable for what this place offers. It does not have the space, furniture or facilities to host that many guests properly.
During check-in, the owner (Inna) was rude and made inappropriate racist and sexist jokes about culture and machismo, which were completely unprofessional and made us very uncomfortable. There was no trust or familiarity for this kind of behavior.
She demanded a $500 deposit per room and kept changing her story, later asking for cash without providing any written receipt or proof of payment. This felt very unsafe and unprofessional.
The apartment was dirty, with visible mold and strong smells coming from the carpet. Towels and bed sheets — which are supposed to be provided — were dirty. They only provided one or two rolls of toilet paper per room for the entire stay.
Everything about this place was disappointing: the smell, the cleanliness, the lack of space, the poor quality of the beds, and especially the behavior of the owner.
I would absolutely not recommend staying here. This place is overpriced, poorly maintained, and treats guests with disrespect.
Location
First of all we sat out in the rain for about and hour and half was yes, things happen. But our check out email was still at 10 am. The place had a damp smell on the inside and outside of the room. There was no liquid soap, shampoo, no dish washing liquid and half roll of toilet paper. The pillow case couch was stained and first night sleep was horrendous. Overall the experience was poor. I would not stay at this place ever again.
