We were expecting the bedroom and kitchen area in our studio apartment to be in one open plan room so were very pleased to find it had a separate bedroom upstairs! There was plenty space for 2 adults and a small dog, everything was very clean and tidy.Lovely decoration.
The apartments are in a great location.
I think it would be nice to have more choice of teas and coffee, also more milk, there were only a few tiny little cartons.
I had 2 apartments booked so found it hard to remember all the different codes and had to keep looking at my phone to check when we were going in and out.
Comfortable
Well equipped
Easily located
Reasonably priced
Location was good and it was mostly a comfortable and enjoyable stay
Blind in bedroom let in a lot of light
Cómodo. Espacioso. Hermoso
The Lawrance is my go to whenever I am in York. As a lone traveller it is very secure. Beautifully decorated. Comfy beds. Super clean and has everything you need for either a business or leisure stay. Reception team are super helpful if you need them.
Shame about parking not being subsidised any longer by NCP but not a deal breaker when the standard of accommodation is so high.
The self catering facilities
The blinds, it was quite dim inside without the lights on
Includes all housewares needed, clean bedrooms
We stayed in apartment 11, and having read a previous review of the same apt, I must admit to feeling some trepidation however, this was totally unfounded! The apartment was perfect, beautifully clean and well kept, with everything one could concievably need. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we slept beautifully. I did take a sleep mask as previous reviews mentioned the rooms being light, and this worked well for me, and my hubby didnt even notice the bright room! We asked reception for an additional key card so one person could be shopping in the city centre, while the other could be in the apartment freshening up/cooking/relaxing etc, and reception were very helpful in accomodating our request. The location was ideal - we travelled by train and were at the apartments within 5-6 minutes walk of leaving the station, and to get into the city it was about 10 minutes walk down the hill into York itself.
The only thing that we felt was missing from the apartment was a full-length mirror, as the only one in the bedroom was a 6" square desk-top mirror, but this is a very minor quibble.
It had everything we needed, beds were super comfy and the morning light in the living room/kitchen put us in bed a fantasticly happy mood to take on york. 👌
Nothing really, one slight niggke was that we haf to enter the keycode to gey out which made us envision hiw we woukd escape the court yard of there was a fire 😂 but we reckon we could make it over the fence! (being women) although i wouldn't fancy my chancesif i was a bloke 🍆
Location is fantastic and my apartment was huge. Like a gorgeous mini house
Nothing.
It was spacious well located and had everything you need
It was all great
The property was perfectly positioned within the city. Beautifully clean and airy.
Low dull buzzing noise - maybe a generator?
Good position
I rang twice to ask if I could drop off luggage but was told it was better to park. This was not true and I was soaking wet by the time I had carried the luggage from the NCP car park. My daughter and wife had arrived in York earlier with my 18 month old grandson and they rang for assistance. In the rush I left the cards on the table. My mistake but it happens.
Fortunately the Grand Hotel, where my brother was staying lent brollies to my wife and daughter. When I met my wife and daughter I realised I had left the key cards. I rang the emergency number and a key holder was sent. Someone rang me for the address as she was unsure where to go. ! She hadn’t a clue although a pleasant person. You can access the compound by code but only leave by card therefore we were trapped. As was the person the company sent as she also did not have a card. We had to wait until another guest came to let us and the person sent to let us in free. Another 20 minutes in the cold with the baby and we got in. The company charged me £100 for this. Obviously my fault initially but terrible service.
In truth the apartment is well fitted out but with both bedrooms overlooking a shaft, the kitchen overlooking a wall and zero service I could not recommend. My brother stayed in the Grand Hotel and as their price included breakfast the cost was less than we paid excluding the £100 rip off. The Grand Hotel also included one other major asset…….SERVICE!
Excellent location and the apartment
