Wir hatten uns auf einen entspannten Aufenthalt in einem angeblichen 5-Sterne-Hotel gefreut, wurden jedoch bitter enttäuscht.

Zunächst das Positive: Die zentrale Lage ist definitiv ein Pluspunkt – man ist mitten im Geschehen. Auch die Größe unseres Zimmers war angenehm, und das Personal, sofern erreichbar, war freundlich. Das war’s dann aber auch schon mit den positiven Eindrücken.

Denn was uns vor Ort erwartete, hatte mit dem glänzenden Internetauftritt und den vielen positiven Bewertungen herzlich wenig zu tun. Schon die Anreise gestaltete sich chaotisch: Inmitten des hektischen Verkehrs von Batumi war das Hotel schlichtweg nicht auffindbar. Keine klare Ausschilderung, keine hilfreiche Wegbeschreibung – stattdessen ein unscheinbarer Hinterhofeingang, den wir nur durch die Hilfe von Passanten überhaupt entdeckt haben. Ein Unding für ein Haus, das sich mit fünf Sternen schmückt.

Die sogenannte „Rezeption“ bestand aus einem kleinen Schreibtisch im Flur – häufig unbesetzt. Wer zur falschen Zeit ankommt, wartet unter Umständen 20–30 Minuten, bis jemand auftaucht. Und ansonsten: kein Personal weit und breit. Denn: Dieses „Hotel“ ist in Wahrheit keines – sondern eher eine Apartmentvermietung mit Ambitionen.

Wir hatten eine Junior Suite gebucht, die auf den Fotos großartig wirkte. In der Realität war davon nichts zu spüren. Die Bilder wurden offensichtlich extrem vorteilhaft aufgenommen – Kompliment an den Fotografen. In Wirklichkeit war das Zimmer abgewohnt: Flecken auf Sofa und Bett, eine beschädigte Fensterscheibe, ein Badezimmer, das alt, schmuddelig und bei Weitem nicht dem Standard entspricht, den man bei dieser Preiskategorie erwarten darf. Von Schallisolierung keine Spur – die Geräuschkulisse von Batumi (Musik, Verkehr, Menschen) war die ganze Nacht über präsent.

Der sogenannte „Spa“-Bereich entpuppte sich als eine einzelne Massageliege – nicht mehr, nicht weniger.
