Pros:

Such a quiet, relaxed place. Surrounded by forest, it was really nice. The town is a short 5 minute drive, but you do kind of need a car, as the roads were steep. Spacious apartment, big bathroom, comfortable bed. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Der Gastgeber war unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit, sodass wir uns sofort willkommen gefühlt haben. Die Lage ist wunderschön und die Aussicht einfach traumhaft. Auch die Ausstattung der Unterkunft lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns das hervorragende Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir würden jederzeit sehr gerne wiederkommen!

Pros:

Clean room, friendly staff, he came to help with the leaking sink after hour. The garden is well-maintained, very quiet and peaceful.

Cons:

The rooms are not soundproofed. We can hear people talking downstairs very clearly.

Lovely lodges
Pros:

The birdsong here is incredible! We sat out in the morning and drank our coffee on our little patio and it was so peaceful. The lodges are lovely and cozy and clean. The owner was friendly.

So nice, we extended our stay.
Pros:

Just a 2 minute drive above the town of Akaroa, with its walkable downtown, and proximity to nearby attractions, Mt Vernon Lodge was a nice place to unwind after fun filled days. The location is very good with sweeping panoramic views of the mountain peaks countryside including the blue bays with its anchored boats nearby. We enjoyed the scene while sipping wine on the ample deck of the studio cabin. Literally right out the door are trailheads to several epic walks. We did an out and back on the Purple Peaks trail which rewarded with tear inducing overwatch views of the volcano bay and town below, meeting happy content grazing sheep along the way. Like I say, pretty much starts at the grounds of Mt Vernon. It was a very comfortable stay with every modern convenience. The kitchen is functional and grills are readily available. The hosts were welcoming, kind, and great sources of local knowledge. We can recommend without reservation. A perfect and auspicious chapter to our South Island adventure!

Good place to explore from around Lake Akaroa.
Pros:

Comfortable, lovely view over lake, easy to find and owner very helpful. Even after we'd left, he messaged us about my daughter having left something behind so we returned to collect it. She wouldn't have realised until we were miles away. Thank you.

Cons:

Road up to property and then up to accommodation is VERY steep. But with good car it's no problem.

Just a wonderful place, with so much peace.

exceptional view. we brought our charcoal bbq and was the best experience ever. wine, bbq, views, sunset. very romantic date

Fabulous location.

The location was wonderful, secluded in most beautiful surroundings. Our little unit had everything we needed and we enjoyed our brief stay to the full.
