The home is a lovely piece of history in the heart of Akasuka, with gracious hosts. We loved the feel of the place - felt like coming home after a busy day in Tokyo.
Having the ability to do laundry was a huge plus. The beds were comfortable, and using a kotatsu was cozy and fun.
We definitely plan to stay here again next time we're in Tokyo.
The café below the house opens at 0900 and serves delicious coffee and macha, along with great thick slices of toast. Personally, I recommend the cinnamon toast with macha latte.
Great location, beautifully cose authentic apartment and the most wonderful hosts.
The host was a great guy
I forgot to tell him about the daily cleaning and he forgot also
This was our first time in Japan and Kohei and his family were wonderful hosts. They made us feel extremely welcome and ensured everything was done to make our stay as relaxing as possible. The location is very convenient also with walking access to multiple subway stations and lots of good local eats. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again. Their coffee is great too!
This place was just what my partner and I were looking for and literally a gem I feel so lucky we found it. It was so nice to feel like we just dropped into a little home rather than having to go into a lobby and up an elevator into a hotel room which we were kind of burnt out on by this point in our trip. The space was beautifully designed and comfortable but the best part of it was honestly the energy. It felt so good to be there! Having a nice Bluetooth speaker instead of a TV was the best trade off! I danced around and vibed out more than once it was so sweet. Sharing the Kotatsu (heated tea table) with my partner in the mornings and the evenings after a long day of walking and exploring was perfect and relaxing. Also being able to do some casual laundry was really nice. The neighborhood is great too, super close to the subway which made getting around super easy. And Kohei and his sister were both communicative and accommodating I really appreciated them, especially the willingness to hold our bags for us while we waited for our flight out, that was huge. Can’t recommend this place/experience enough.
The only thing that was a little confusing was due to its uniqueness, it wasn’t as clear what to expect in terms of little things like refills on the tea and coffee that were offered. But I had a direct line to the host and could’ve asked at anytime, so it really hardly counts as something I didn’t like. Just something to keep in mind for those used to hotels that clean the room and replenish water bottles and things every day. I’m sure they would’ve accommodated whatever we’d needed in that area if we’d asked- it’s just not an automatic thing!
Everything about the property is perfect and beautiful, the location and the host are the best of the best.
Nothing
The history, comfort and care that has been taken with this place. Great location and friendly hosts
Nothing
Could truly experience the history of this house in a good way. Both Kohei and Kimiko were the most pleasant people we’ve ever met. The staff from the coffee shop as well! Everyone was so welcoming, it really felt like a second home.
Nothing. Read some comments about it being loud outside but we definitely did not hear much.
It is very close to two stations. Spotlessly clean. Wonderful shower. Comfortable bed. Washing machine. Plenty of room for a couple. It was a lovely place to stay and I look forward to coming back in the future.
No complaints.
The apartment was absolutely amazing and Kohei and Kimiko were amazing. The location was amazing. This is old school Tokyo but is so charming and clean. I’m obsessed 10/10 would recommend

Traditional house, great place to stay. Great location and change from normal hotels. Room has Kotatsu which is great for colder weather.
In very cold weather, heater struggles to heat room so can get cold.
Spacious private first floor home in a central location so close to various subway lines. There is a fully equipped kitchen and washing facilities. We loved the hospitality of Kohei and his family.
Nothing we didn’t like. We loved our stay.
Tokyo Little House is a lovely haven of peace in a busy area of Tokyo. The flat has everything you need and is gorgeous - it feels authentically japanese and is beautifully decorated, but has all the comfort of a modern house include a comfortable bed, a washing machine and convenient power points everywhere. I slept on the bed and my daughter chose to sleep on a tatami in the living room space - there is also a sofa bed, but with this arrangement it felt like we had two separate rooms. The location couldn't be more convenient with numerous attractions and underground stations close by. The hosts are incredibly attentive and friendly. We loved our stay.
If you stay there we recommend you try the Aoyama Flower Market Tea House which is 5 minutes away and does delicious breakfasts in a gorgeous setting.
The street is a bit noisy with people walking by late at night. There are earplugs in the flat. It didn't bother us that much but it's worth mentioning. The flat is not big - worth checking the floorplan. But very adequate for Tokyo, and the descriptions and pictures are accurate and give a good sense of it so it met our expectations completely. The staircase to access the flat is short but very steep and could be a problem for someone with mobility issues, or very young children (there is a door from the flat to the staircase though so they couldn't fall down the stairs at night).
The most amazing authentic old style Japanese house in the heart of Tokyo, the host Kohei and the sister are truly exceptional, kind and available.

2 min close to the main transportations (subway bus etc), bars and restaurants.
A place to go!
The Little House is a unique accommodation in Tokyo where you breath authentic air. This is why we chose it. Location is fantastic close to transportation and central to the city: a really pretty neighborhood that is lively but not loud. Last but not least, the hosts are the kindest ever and the cafe on the first floor is a gem.
While the house is really special, it was not the most comfortable for us three. It’s one big space with kitchen and bathroom a bit tight. It’s also a bit overpriced.
It's the second time I've stayed here and I will be staying again. I adore this little house, it's staff, location, coffee, history and comfort.
Nothing. I adore this place.
