We had a nice time.
Pros:

Everything is pretty nice , however it does not look like a regular hotel. The same buildings have many hotels and also some flats are owned by individuals.
Overall, the views from the hotel is nice and the room facilities are also good. It’s also convenient to travel around.

Cons:

Nothing really.

Good location. Discounted cost because room needs refurbishing.
Pros:

Location of hotel was good with spectacular views over the harbour. Building is interesting shape and very distinctive.

Cons:

Rooms are old. There were tears to the curtains, holes to the vanity, door lock had been replaced a few times, so door needed repair and repainting - although the lock was functional. The room safe was open - couldn't be closed. Floor was dangerously slippery near the shower. Worse - the pool in the complex was permanently closed. The excuse one day was that it had been too hot... and another day because it had rained. Lots of excuses - but basically the pool was shut, who knows the real reason. It was possible to use another pool if you took the bus to another hotel.
And finally, worse, much worse. Twice before arriving, hotel emailed me to say I need to get a COVID test to be able to stay in Sanya. Just wrong - not required. If I had followed their advice I would have wasted my money.
