Water kettle didn’t work. Wrong outlet (EU).
Dog poop on the gras. Owner should take care of this as in not very inviting.
There was no breakfast offered, even though it was advertised as included.
The room was moldy smelling, sheets were ripped and flimsy, coffee pot had mold so I wasn't able to use. I would not recommend this hotel.
We stayed here in 2016 and that stay was great. Since then the property has changed hands and is in poor shape, inadequately managed and seemingly insecure. The view is still nice, that is all we liked.
The place needed maintenance and simple renovations. The parking was totally unacceptable. We booked on booking.com and the website indicated that breakfast was included and we could pay with a credit card. Neither was true
It's a big room.
The room was not clean at all. Mud on the floor and a lot of dust on the cabinets. We found cat poo on the floor in the kitchen (which the host cleaned when we told him about it).
It's very noisy, we could hear everything the neighbors were saying.

WOW! The place is magic. David and his dogs are amazing. We loved to stay on this beautiful villa. The tree on the garden has tucans and sometimes even monkeys. Is quite, chill and at night is so beautiful... The bed is huge and the room is well equiped. We hope to come back sometime :)

I normally don’t give written reviews but this place was so extraordinary I have to leave the comment.
The place is astonishing and has the best value for money I have encountered in while. The view is amazing especially in sunset.
The host and is really friendly and helpful. He gave me some advices for the trip around Monteverde and was not a problem to extend additional night at the hotel. Every time you come to the place you gonna be welcomed by his friendly dog Franky (Careful: he requires a lot of petting ;) )
The place is near to Santa Elena town and to the 3rd longest ZipLine.
If you’re staying in Monteverde you should really considering to take this place, you won’t regret it.
David was really friendly and helpful in giving suggestions. We especially loved the outdoor space of this place, with the hammocks, chairs, and tables that made it so relaxing to just hang around and be in nature. The pets were so cute and friendly, and made this place feel like a homestay! I extended my stay because I liked it so much. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I were to visit Monteverde again.
One small thing, there was no soap in the bathroom but thankfully I brought some, and I imagine they would provide if asked.
My friend and I had a great stay. The accommodation is very nice, especially the garden. The kitchen came in handy to prepare some dinner and breakfast.
The host recommended a night tour which was amazing. Unfortunately, we only stayed one night, next time we would definitely stay longer :-)

The yard and view were lovely. The apartment was spacious. We were thankfully able to leave our suitcases in a safe area with a worker before checkin. Check in was simple but no one was on the premises to advise and deal with issues…quiet but need a taxi to get to town center.
Unfortunately the apartment was not very clean. The dishes were not clean and we had no hot water in the sink to wash them. The porch was pleasant but also became a smoking area and it filled our place with smoke. There was a broken window pane in the bathroom so we could not close to keep out the smoke. Beds could use an upgrade also.
No soundproofing at all could here normal level conversation three apartments along
