Ice Age Cottage

Wir waren 3 Tage in Ella. Das alle erste, was uns sehr gefreut hat, war das Abholen auf unsere Anfrage mit Tuk-tuk vom Bahnhof. Sehr nett!
Der Host: er ist wirklich klasse, sehr nett, sehr bemüht und aufmerksam. Hat unsere Koffer runter (einige steile Stufen) und hoch selbst geschleppt.
Frühstück: Unschlagbar! Wirklich! Jeden Tag was anderes, direkt auf der Terrasse mit dem tollen Blick serviert.
Warmes Wasser vorhanden.
Nach Ella ca 30 min zu Fuß oder Tuk-tuk für ca 800-1000 Rup.
Ganz in der Nähe ein paar Restaurants und kleine Lebensmittel Läden.
Viele Hotels/accomodations/rooms sind auf steilen Hängen. Dies bitte berücksichtigen.
Bei ice age Resort sind auch ein paar Stufen zu bewältigen, was aber am Ende des Tages sehr gut tut.

Das Ice Age Cottage liegt etwas außerhalb des Stadtzentrums von Ella, welches mit einem TukTuk allerdings innerhalb weniger Minuten zu erreichen ist. Das Wetter war bei unserem Besuch leider nicht ganz so gut, aber unser Gastgeber gab sich alle Mühe uns ein ansprechendes Schlechtwetterprogramm vorzuschlagen. Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse ist wirklich herausragend und war mit Sicherheit das beste unserer Reise. Bei jedem Anliegen konnten wir unseren Gastgeber problemlos kontaktieren. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten sind sehr gut mit TukTuk erreichbar.

The owner of the hotel is an incredibly helpful, friendly, warm-hearted, thoughtful, and hardworking gentleman. The hotel itself is magnificent.

It is exceptionally clean, well-organized, and offers outstanding breakfasts. It is truly a wonderful place with the best view in Ella. It is truly a great value-for-money hotel. You can be sure that you will be happy staying here. You will feel as comfortable as if you were in your own home.

If we come back, we already know where we will stay.

Ice Age Cottage ist super! Das Zimmer und Bad sind geräumig und es gibt Ablageflächen. Dusche hat warmes Wasser und guten Druck. Das Bett ist riesig. Die Lage ist der Wahnsinn. Vom Balkon aus hat man einen wunderschönen Blick ins Grüne. Man kann Äffchen, Adler und andere Tiere beobachten. Auf dem Balkon bekommt man auch das unglaublich leckere Frühstück, das Nirmeel selbst für einen zaubert. Jeden Tag gibt es andere Leckereien und er hat mir sogar ein Lunchpaket für die Weiterreise gepackt. Nirmeel ist extrem nett und sympathisch. Er hilft, wo er kann. Ich hatte dank ihm eine sehr gute Zeit in Ella.

Der Host war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat unsere beiden schweren Rucksäcke die Treppe runter ins Zimmer getragen. Wir haben jeden Tag ein super leckeres und umfangreiches Frühstück bekommen. Am Abreisetag haben wir sogar noch ein Frühstück zum mitnehmen bekommen. Er hat uns auch bei allen Fragen weitergeholfen und einen Fahrer für uns organisiert.
Das Zimmer war groß und sauber und die Aussicht einfach nur atemberaubend. Man muss dort mit dem ein oder anderen Tier rechnen, aber wir haben das nicht als störend empfunden. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Jeżeli ktoś szuka ustronnego miejsca z pięknym widokiem to polecam bardzo. Gospodarz hoteliku jest cudowny i bardzo pomocny. Codzienne śniadania były przepyszne . Życzymy spełnienia następnej inwestycji.

The owner is a warm-hearted gentleman, exceptionally friendly and genuinely caring toward his guests. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcome and at home. Every morning, he prepared breakfast tailored exactly to our preferences, always served with a smile and a kind word. The property itself offers a stunning view, the kind you could happily spend hours admiring, and from time to time, playful monkeys make a surprise visit, adding a unique charm to the experience.

I really enjoyed my stay at Ice Age Cottage. The host made me feel very welcome and comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious.
I even had an issue with my mobile phone, and it needed repairs . He took me straight to a repair shop it the morning, where it was immediately fixed. I was so thankful.
The view from the balcony is also stunning.

The property features a single-room cottage, which was cozy, clean, and beautifully set up—perfect for a couple or solo traveler looking for peace and quiet. The bathroom was decent, with reliable hot water, which is always appreciated in Ella’s cooler climate. Plus, there’s free Wi-Fi, which worked well throughout our stay.

The breakfast was incredible, with a huge variety of local and Western options—everything was fresh, tasty, and well-prepared. Truly one of the best we had during our trip.

The owner was extremely amicable and welcoming, always ready to help with anything we needed and made us feel very much at home.

Just a small note for future guests: to reach the cottage, you’ll need to walk down and back up a flight of steps, so be ready for a bit of a climb. But trust me, the view at the bottom is more than worth it!

If you’re heading to Ella and want a peaceful, scenic, and welcoming place to stay, Ice Age Cottage is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended—we’d definitely come back!

Amazing views in a quiet location. Super comfortable mattress and we had the best breakfast on our balcony. The host is extremely helpful, would definitely stay here again!

We had an amazing time at the Ice Age Cottage. The host was extremely friendly and helpful, organizing a tour to the Diyaluma Falls for us, which was unforgettable. Every morning, we were treated to a different homemade breakfast, which truly elevated our experience and made our stay even more special. The cottage is cozy and well-equipped, and the view from the private balcony is simply stunning. There are also several excellent restaurants within walking distance, and it's quick and easy to reach the town center by Tuk Tuk. A perfect, peaceful retreat in Ella. We highly recommend it!
