Tolles Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis
Pros:

Das Castara Inn hat wirklich ein hervorragendes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wir hatten das kleinste Apartment vorne zur Straße raus. Für ein paar Tage absolut ausreichend und gut ausgestattet. Die Lage ist perfekt, in 10 Minuten ist man zu Fuß am Strand oder im Ort (wenn man halbwegs fit ist wirklich kein Problem). Unser Zimmer hatte zwar keine Aussicht, aber auf dem Grundstück gibt es viele Bänke von denen aus man den traumhaften Blick auf die kleine Bucht und den Sonnenuntergang genießen kann.
Hervorzuheben ist außerdem der unkomplizierte und freundliche Kontakt per WhatsApp mit den Besitzern.

Cons:

Das Bett war sehr klein und weich. Und die Klimaanlage laut. Aber beides nicht tragisch. Der günstige Preis hat das wettgemacht.

Ein Hinweis: Das kleine Apartment hat keinen wirklich schönen Balkon. Man kann zwar draußen sitzen, es gibt aber keine Überdachung. Wenn es regnet, muss man also drinnen sitzen. Deshalb und wegen der Aussicht würden wir daher beim nächsten Mal auf jeden Fall eins der großen Appartments hinten raus mit Meerblick nehmen. Der Aufpreis dafür lohnt sich definitiv!

A peaceful place for Tobago cooldown.
Pros:

Great place. Marlon and Rhonda are very friendly and accommodating. They are quick to respond to any requests but leave you to enjoy your stay. The property sits on a cliff with a breathtaking view of a secluded cove. The jungle is full of birds (ok, the Chachalacas are quite noisy in the morning but fun to watch as they glide down among the treetops). Several large mango trees provide ample shade and there are chairs with little ledges to place your morning coffee.
The studio, while modest, was well equipped with a kitchen with kettle, hot plate, fridge and cooking and serving utensils.
The bathroom was nicely updated and included small bottles of shampoo and body lotion. The shower had a large supply of body wash and lots of towels and wash cloths.
Minutes from Castara Beach and Englishman's Bay.
I'd definitely stay there again.

Disgraceful: my paid booking was canceled and the room resold.

Honestly? Nothing. The only “positive” is that I quickly learned you can’t rely on a paid reservation here.

Cons:

This hotel is a masterclass in how to drive customers away.

I booked through Booking.com and paid in advance. The hotel contacted me via WhatsApp. During that conversation, I said I was still unsure about my arrival (yellow travel advisory / travel plans). That was not “go ahead and cancel,” it was uncertainty — something any professional property handles with clear terms.

What did they do? Without any proper warning, they canceled my reservation and simply resold my room. And yes: two days later I confirmed that I was coming — and suddenly it was “no longer possible.” Of course not, because they had already given my paid room to someone else.

This isn’t “miscommunication.” It’s pure unprofessionalism and completely unreliable. If you communicate via WhatsApp, you set a clear deadline (“please confirm by…”) or you pick up the phone. You don’t quietly cancel and resell the room as if the guest doesn’t exist.

I am now waiting for my full refund. If this takes even a moment longer than necessary, I will share this experience publicly everywhere — including exactly how long the refund took.

Conclusion: avoid this hotel. They don’t respect their own bookings, communication is poor, and they will leave you stranded.

Pros:

Die Unterkunft war die schönste auf Tobago. Sie war mir allem ausgestattet, was man benötigte, sehr sauber und gemütlich. Der Blick von der Terrasse auf die Palmen und das Meer, nachts mit Glühwürmchen, privater Zugang zu einem Strand… und vieles mehr. Die Kommunikation lief sehr gut und wir haben uns immer sehr wohl gefühlt!

Pros:

Utsikten är fantastisk. Det är är fåglar och annat djurliv direkt utanför den enorma terrassen. Trevlig och tillmötesgående personal. De är flexibla och uppgraderar gärna om det finns möjlighet och utan extra kostnad. Vi fick en extra lägenhet som var i anslutning till vår lägenhet istället för en extrasäng till vårt barn. Så oväntat och så generöst. Vi har bara gott om att säga om detta boende.

A heavenly stay nestled at Castara Bay

Castara Inn was such a wonderful place that it provided me with everything I wanted. My apartment had an amazing, breathtaking view that captured both the lush green mountains and the enormous ocean. Loved it! Enjoyed birds' chirping, magnificent nature, and sunsets at the calm and quiet patio. The place was super clean, fully furnished, and well-maintained. Everything looked brand new. All the entertainment sources (Wifi/TV/streaming services like Netflix) were top notch. Castara Bay beach was just a few minutes walk down the hill. I spent many hours every day in the spectacular turquoise water at Castara Beach. As it was not crowded, I pretty much had the whole beach to myself most of the time. The so calm, peaceful, pool-like shallow waters were incredibly beautiful and entertaining. The hosts were amazing. Rhonda, Marlon, and Leigh-Ann - they all were very friendly, supportive, caring, and attentive. Location was extremely safe ( the whole area was generally super safe for me). Castara Inn has a lovely yard filled with Mango trees. Delicious, authentic, organic mangoes. I picked a few lush, juicy, fresh Mangoes every day, and they were delectable! I'm grateful for everything..!!
