Pros:

Die Anlage ist wunderschön gepflegt, ruhig und mit vielen Pflanzen gestaltet. Auch die Inneneinrichtung ist optisch ansprechend.

Cons:

Was uns gestört hat, war, dass wir nach nur einer Übernachtung keine zusätzlichen Kaffeekapseln erhielten. Gäste, die nur eine Nacht bleiben, bekommen das Starter-Set mit sechs Tee- und Kaffeekapseln. Gäste, die vier Nächte bleiben, erhalten ebenfalls nur diese sechs Kapseln. Das ist weder großzügig noch fair. Innerhalb dieser Zimmerkategorie sollte Kaffee inklusive sein.

Die Küche ist spärlich ausgestattet, und Kochen ist dort nicht einfach. Es fehlen grundlegende Zutaten wie Öl, Essig, Salz und Pfeffer. Es ist ökologisch nicht sinnvoll, dass jeder Gast diese Artikel kauft und sie dann nach ein bis zwei Anwendungen wegwerfen muss, weil er seine Reise fortsetzt, nach Hause fährt oder keine weitere Unterkunft mit Küche findet.

Als wir nach zwei Tagen ein muffiges Handtuch wechseln wollten und es dementsprechend auf den Duschboden legten, wurde es einfach wieder aufgehängt, anstatt ausgetauscht zu werden. Zwar steht in der Beschreibung, dass Badetücher und Bettwäsche nur alle drei Tage gewechselt werden, was wir auch verstehen. Wir blieben aber vier Nächte, und es wurde nichts gewechselt.

Als wir abends im Restaurant nach Leitungswasser fragten, hieß es, man könne es zwar servieren, aber es sei nicht gesund. Laut Hotelangaben ist das Wasser jedoch trinkbar. Das Personal hier sollte dringend einheitlich geschult werden.

Zimmer sind zudem ziemlich hellhörig.

Ich wollte eigentlich dieses Feedback direkt beim Auschecken weitergeben. Nachdem wir den Schlüssel abgegeben hatten und der Mitarbeiter kurz auf den Computer geschaut hatte, hieß es nur: „ok, alles in Ordnung.“

Niemand interessierte sich dafür, wie unser Aufenthalt war, ob er uns gefallen hatte, noch wünschte uns jemand eine gute Weiterreise. Insgesamt wirkte das Personal nicht sehr motiviert.

Mooie en comfortabele plek
Pros:

Erg vriendelijk personeel! We kregen een goede uitleg bij aankomst. Ook tijdens het ontbijt werden we goed geholpen. We voelden ons erg comfortabel bij Alma do Pico.

Cons:

Alles was oké. We verbleven hier slechts 1 nacht. We hadden gepland om te kamperen op de Pico, maar gezien de weersomstandigheden, hebben we last minute Alma do Pico geboekt. We zijn blij dat we hier terechtgekomen zijn.

Nice idea and probably better in hot weather but overall the cabin was a bit disappointing.
Pros:

The setting is private and feels remote while only being a 5 minute drive from the centre of Madalena. The onsite restaurant provides good quality meals and a buffet breakfast with plenty of choices.
Our house (Number 7) had a large living room and separate bedroom with high ceilings so felt spacious. Staff were on hand if needed and friendly.

Cons:

Although spacious, the rooms lacked much natural light so felt gloomy and dark unless you put lights on. There was a musty smell even though we ventilated the space continuously during our stay and ran the dehumidifier in the bathroom. Bathroom had rather tired accessible fittings (we did not ask for an accessible unit). Kitchen was of limited use, having a single plug in hob unit, no chopping or food preparation board, no oven and few items to cook with but had a huge refrigerator!
The main car park never had enough spaces in the late afternoon/early evening and although there was a huge additional parking area, it was always closed off.

Highly recommended accommodations on Pico Island.
Pros:

The wait staff catered to my dietary needs … from specially-created breakfasts to expertly-created cocktails before dinner. I was AMAZED at the special attention!

Cons:

Nothing at all. The accommodations and all staff were fabulous! Our evening waitress added a “secret ingredient” to our nightly Gin & Tonic cocktail. We delighted in trying to guess it each evening.
