Cosy and quiet. Away from the hussle and bussle.
Countryside views
* Hospitality was awful
* Delayed check-in despite requesting early access.
* Cottage was not cleaned properly – dirty floors and bedroom carpet.
* Bathroom had a strong unpleasant smell.
* Fridge didn’t keep food and drinks cold.
* No cutlery provided and only two oversized mugs.
* TV in the bedroom had no remote.
* No patio, garden furniture or riverside view as advertised.
* Had to buy cups, cutlery and air freshener ourselves.
* Staff were dismissive when we raised concerns.
* Overall, the accommodation did not match the description or justify the price paid.
Nice spacious cottage for me and my dog comfortable bed and couch, tv if I wanted to watch it and enough coffee tea and milk for our stay if you wanted more you just had to ask
Beautiful location , lovely cottages, clean, open plan bedroom lounge, with good bathroom very nice walk in shower, friendly , helpful staff, linked pub across car park with lovely bar area with super views, excellent food , great free parking
Mini fridge in room , really is mini , TV would be better a bit higher on wall
Nice environment and very accessible to other amenities, places to go, shops etc. We will stay there again maybe in September if available
Could have done with a fridge and maybe a fan as it was a heatwave when we stayed there
Fabulous venue, great waking up to the sunshine, coffee on the bench outside the cottage/Apt. Will stay again.
dint have it
we it we have came home full of flea bits there was fleas on the beds my Granson has been bit to hell the toilet did not work 😳 it was horrible we dint expect it to be infection of fleas
The room was lovely, clean & comfortable.
The location was amazing, better than we expected. Within easy reach if Morecambe & Carnforth. We dive at Capernwray.
The evening meals at the hotel, were very good. We ate there two nights. They have a lovely small but cosy restaurant downstairs & another restaurant/ function room on the ground floor, both beautifully decorated. Again only open certain nights. I'm sure they would capture more clients, especially from the caravan site next door & general advertising. On the Friday the function room was occupied & the downstairs restaurant was busy, so much
We stayed Monday to Saturday & left early on the Saturday morning.
We were a bit disappointed that we had to keep going out for breakfast. The hotel had a note in the room that a breakfast cob could be made up if required, but that is not what we really wanted. We can understand during quiet times, but this was the first week in July. The same applied to evening meals. We didn't always feel like going out again after a full day out & about.
The rooms were great, but there were no draws to put clothes in.
There were two chairs either side of the tv, probably replace them with draws?
I would prefer someone come in every other day to empty bins, & refill milk, coffee & toilet rolls without having to go over & ask. The staff were lovely & very accommodating whenever we asked for anything.
The breakfast baps were fab.
A fair few dog poops on the grass area unfortunately.
I love the location, situated next to a stunning river and Asda's nearby. Large town centre not too far away and lakes within an hour's drive. Cheap fuel nearby too and I like the minimal contact from staff during my stay, as my dogs can be a bit shy with strangers. Really lovely large space in the rooms. Easy to park outside. Deliveroo will deliver here. Nice to have a sofa to sit on which you wouldnt get in a hotel room and not many stairs to negotiate or far to unload the car with bags and dogs. Pub is lovely didnt eat there but seemed cosy with great views.
Shower is really low pressure. Heavy stains on carpet but this is also reassuring when travelling with dogs. Bed very soft but I actually slept well in it. People talking loudly outside at 2am but this is no fault of the accommodation. Escape light could keep light sleepers awake but I wore an eye mask having read this in the reviews before leaving. There is a small fridge for about 3 to 4 cans but would be nice to have had milk to go with the coffees or a slightly larger fridge and cutlery/plates for longer staying guests.
Location
No hairdryer. No internet
Wanted a chilled quiet weekend away. That was exactly what we got. The food was excellent, the owners were friendly and the accommodation was clean, and welcoming! We enjoyed it that much we are going back in 3 weeks.
NOTHING
Steak pie and homemade soup
The vegetable soup
The room was lovely and tidy and the man that showed us the room was very welcoming and pleasant to talk too, waitress was lovely too who bought our food
Not great hospitality from the staff, got asked to move when eating dinner so the owner could watch the football as we were sat at the table infront of the TV, said there was WiFi but yet didnt reach the cottage we were in, literally about 30 seconds oppisite, man behind the bar was rude, the women owner came out and said we had to turn the heater off because it rinses the electric (shouldn't have it out there then or have it active)
