Cons:

The room had a faint sulphur smell.
The breakfast was disappointing: no eggs, no vegetables, no yogurt (the last item ran out and we were told it will not be restocked).
We had to check out a few days early and asked if we could get the city tax for the remaining nights back. The receptionist told us that since the tax was collected via Booking.com, the hotel cannot refund us. I then called Booking.com and found out that it was actually the hotel which should have refunded us, and the receptionist misled us.
We will not be coming back.

베드버그와 동양인 인종차별, 부서진기물에 대한 책임전가, 최악의 호텔과 부킹닷컴

기차역과 가깝다.

215호실에서 베드버그에 물려서 병원응급실에 다녀옴. 시설과 베드버그에 대해 항의하는 우리에게 고압적이고 동양인에 대한 인종차별적인 어투와 태도로 대하는 상식이하의 여직원과 아줌마직원에게 모멸감을 느낌. 늦은 밤 관광을 마치고 와서 우린 베드버그로 인해 바꿔준 방 207호에 처음 들어섰다. 우린 사용하지도 않은 욕실의 부서진 욕실유리문과 고장난 변기, 부서진 욕조에 대해 문제제기했다. 고치려던 여직원은 한밤중에 굿뷰를 강조하며 다음 날 아침까지 참고 사용하라고 했다. 다음 날 아침 부킹닷컴측에 이 사실을 알렸으나 부킹닷컴은 적극적으로 우릴 도우려하지않았다. 심지어 호텔측은 부서진 기물이 우리의 '비행'이라며 우리에게 책임을 전가했다. 우리의 계속적인 문제제기에 일을 무마하기위해 새로 제공한 4층의 방의 컨디션조차 엉망이어서 우린 체크아웃할 수 밖에 없었다. 매트리스의 곰팡이와 얼룩들이 심하여 불결했으며 벽에는 날벌레가 앉아있었다. 모든 증거물을 우린 가지고 있다. 이로 5박 예약 중 3박을 하고 퇴실하였다. 그러나 호텔 측은 예약된 방보다 업그레이드된 4층의 방을 제공하였으나 우리가 단순변심하여 퇴실하였다고한다. 환불해주지않는다고 하는것은 그들의 억지이다. 호텔측을 상대로 우린 포르투갈관광청에 신고할 것이며 사회연결망을 통해서도 적극적으로 대응할 것이다.
또한 이러한 부당함을 업소측과 중재하여 적극적으로 처리하지않은 부킹닷컴에 대해서도 우린 법적으로 대응할 것이다.

An ideal place to base yourself for a trip to Porto.
Pros:

The public areas, eg the lobby are ornate and there are some lovely tiled wall decorations. The staff without excetion were warm and welcoming. Prices in the bar were very reasonable. The location (close to Sao Bento station and in a vibrant central area) was very good - top part of the city. The breakfast was nice, if a little limited in variety. For us, who spent very little time in the hotel beyond sleeping and eating breakfast it served us very well for a very reasonable price.

Cons:

The bed rooms have seen better days and are a little 'tired'. Being from the UK, we missed not having tea and coffee making facilities. The were some strange rules in the breakfast room such as being forbidden to fill a water bottle from the water dispenser and being told in no uncertain terms not to take anything from the room for consumption elsewhere, and to clarify, I agree it is not the done thing to make yourself a packed lunch but maybe munching a piece of fruit as you head off isn't too naughty! Midday check out was helpful for us.
