Couldn’t fault it. I recommend to anyone visiting Akaroa/surrounding areas.
Pros:

The facilities were excellent and the place was spotless! The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate for everyone. A great nights sleep with a peaceful breakfast sat out on the patio with views of the private gardens and sea!! The shared facilities worked very well, no waiting around to use the wash facilities and around the cottage it felt very private. All of which were immaculate. Small evening walks right from the doorstep it was a great location, with only a short drive to main town Akaroa.

Straightforward and adequate for just the one night
Pros:

Margo and Cornelius are very inviting hosts, making me feel welcome right away. The property is also quite impressive, with beautifully maintained gardens surrounding the cottage

Cons:

Being a homestead, you are somewhat at the mercy of the other guests. If people are moving around early in the morning/late at night, then you are bound to hear them from your room

Highly recommend a visit to Half Moon Cottage
Pros:

Half Moon Cottage is a little piece of heaven on earth, tranquil and beautiful. The owner is very welcoming and informative. Cereal, tea and coffee was left out for breakfast and fresh milk is constantly topped up. Beds are super comfy with beautiful views into their amazing cottage garden. I awoke to birdsong.

Pros:

The quaintness of the building Built with its high stud and wooden decor. Wooden flooring. Very tidy and attractive garden setting Excellent kitchen and dining area ,. Present was all that one needed to enjoy a meal either in the inside dining area or outside .

Pros:

Amazing place to spend some time and close to Akaroa. Hosts are really friendly and happy to share some information about hiking spots around the area. One of the best places I staid in during my visit in New Zealand. Hopefully I will be able to visit again some day
