Great staff, pools, location and clean rooms
Pros:

Great location in Legian, friendly staff, clean rooms, pools, great air con, wifi, hot water and comfy bed.

Cons:

House keeping waking us up each morning was a little annoying, the slamming of doors as they entered and exited each room with the lock on would bang and wake us as so many rooms in hallway but im sure theyrre unaware of this :)

Akmani is our Balinese home from home.
Pros:

Fourth visit to the Akmani and continues to be our "safe place" when on vacation. Reacquainting with staff, especially the fabulous Lucas, who always remembers us by name, and asks after other family members who have not returned on the trip. The staff at reception are respectful and of great assistance with personal queries and support. The roof top pool and bar are a fabulous break from the noise and bustle of the ground floor and beyond. We dream of this spot when wishing for rest and relaxation. Additionally, the pool is shallow enough for young children, which is great for them when they can "touch the bottom"! Finally, I want to mention the fabulous gentlemen that work to meet and greet you at the entry every time we arrive and depart throughout the day, as well as struggling to get our motorbikes out of the confines of the car park! They are tireless, kind, thoughtful and fun, and continue to enhance the quality of our stay on every occasion.

Cons:

Disappointed that there is now a charge for decoration of beds. Previously, this had been an unexpected surprise and gratuity from the hotel - loses its meaning if it is planned and paid for by the guests themselves! As such, a family member missed out on this treat. Also, first time being on the 5th floor. This was not an issue but when I asked why not 6th (we had a baby on board so easier) they said that 6th floor was kept for those taking breakfast as part of their package. This does not make good marketing sense. Encouraging those who have NOT booked to take breakfast to walk past the restaurant everyday might prompt guests to take a seat and dine in. As such, on this occasion, not one of us took breakfast at the Akmani, as we had done many times on previous visits. Please accept this review for its constructive criticism, as it is far from a complaint.
