Perfect in every way
Pros:

We last visited this property 14 years ago and were concerned that it would not live up to our fond memories of it. However, it surpassed every expectation. The attention to detail, friendliness and caring of the staff, cleanliness and facilities throughout are exceptional for a small boutique hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and done with a smile. Even down to our car being cleaned each morning.

My wife celebrated her birthday here and due to unforeseen circumstances we could not celebrate her special day that day. So the following morning and to our surprise the staff brought her breakfast, formed a choir and broke into song, delivering her birthday cake the following morning.

We had family in a much more expensive hotel around the corner and Lairds beat them hands down.

Superfijn, rustig en alles klopt hier, kortom:een absolute aanrader!

We hebben ontzettend genoten, prachtig estate, super vriendelijke ontvangst en zalig ontbijt.

Nice location.

Cons:

Sometimes it was possible to hear traffic from the motorway N2, but the location itself in the greens and the lovely personal could compensate this by far.

Great experience, more suited to an older crowd.
Pros:

The property was very nice & relaxed, everyone was very friendly and you didn’t even have to give your room number when ordering as they knew it. The food choice was limited but the food quality was excellent. The place was very clean.

Cons:

The place is more tailored to an older crowd, we are mid 40s and most were a lot older. There was a lady at breakfast discussing your plans for the day who totally ignored us for 2 of the 3 days & even on the first day it was a brief encounter, which we felt was a bit rude, as everyone else was so friendly.

Pros:

Unser Aufenthalt im Lairds Lodge Country Estate in Plettenberg Bay war ein wunderschöner Abschluss unserer Flitterwochen.

Wir wurden von Dori unglaublich herzlich empfangen und direkt zu Beginn mit einem Tee begrüßt – ein sehr schöner Start. Die Abstimmung vorab war unkompliziert, unser Zimmer war bei Ankunft bereits fertig und sehr gut ausgestattet. Es war wirklich alles da, was man braucht.

Die gesamte Anlage ist traumhaft gepflegt, mit wunderschönen Blumen und einem Garten, in dem man einfach gerne sitzt und die Ruhe genießt. Allein das Ambiente macht schon gute Laune.

Das Essen war hervorragend – sowohl abends als auch zum Frühstück. Große Auswahl, frische Früchte und Eierspeisen, die individuell zubereitet wurden. Besonders aufmerksam fanden wir, dass man sich aktiv gemerkt hat, dass wir glutenfrei essen, ohne dass wir erneut darauf hinweisen mussten. Der Service insgesamt war außergewöhnlich herzlich und zuvorkommend.

Die Inhaberin hat uns bei der Planung unterstützt, bei Veranstaltern angerufen und Plätze reserviert – das war eine echte Hilfe. Zum Ende unserer Flitterwochen stand sogar ein Obstkorb mit einer Flasche Sekt auf unserem Zimmer – eine liebevolle Geste, über die wir uns sehr gefreut haben.

Die Lage ist ideal, um von dort aus viele schöne Ziele zu erreichen. Für zwei bis drei Tage auf der Durchreise absolut perfekt – wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt.

Wonderful hotel, staff, food, exceptional service!
Pros:

Beautiful hotel, lovely rooms and pool area. Staff are exceptional and we are the best service we have ever had in any hotel we have stayed in in the world. We loved their bread and marmalade so much we asked them to make some for us to take with us! Special mention to Eddie, Gertrude, the amazing chef and all the other staff!

Highly recommend a few nights in this beautiful lodge
Pros:

Very accommodating with our request to check-in early due to illness within our party; they were able to have one of our two rooms ready when we arrived at lunchtime. Beautiful setting, lovely pools and excellent food. All staff were extremely welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. All rooms of a very high standard.

Cons:

I didn't like the very high sinks in our room (No 11) - I had to stand on tip toes to clean my teeth and I'm 5'3". They looked great but totally impractical for me!
