Great stay
Pros:

The garden is very beautiful and jungly, and has great vibes. The room was spacious with comfy beds. It was possible to rent a surfboard and there was a big variety to choose from.

Quiet Cosy hotel located in the north of santa Teresa, 5 min walk from playa hermosa
Pros:

Quiet location, small hôtel (5 rooms only), Nice garden, well equiped (air conditioning, shared kitchen, pool, surfboards for rent,…) and friendly hosts.

Pros:

Staff great. Being a smaller hotel you get to know the other guests.

Cons:

It's tricky to get to restaurants or bars without driving or a cab.

There is a very good pizza restaurant nearby and cafes that close early.

That said, the slightly isolated area peoced much nicer than the madness of Carmen etc. And so speaks a 50 old plus family guy. So depends.

Beach for surfing 10 mins walk and the instructors are fab.

Loved it.

Underwhelming experience. Go there only if you want to surf and don’t care much about details.
Pros:

Common areas. The staff (Olivia) is kind and flexible. Close to the beach if you’re surfing.

Cons:

They don’t accept credit cards although their profile says so.
It’s very far from Santa Teresa downtown.
Not enough parking space.
It was not a double bed, but 2 small beds put together.
Breakfast served too late.
It smells funny on the room.
The bathroom sink is unstable and might be falling out.
Haven’t got my official receipt even though they charged taxes and I have insisted to get it asap as any other establishment in Costa Rica.
