Loved the relaxed feel, great bedrooms and staff were brilliant , a credit to the hotel. Met owners who were hilarious 😂.....big shout out to the young lad who served breakfast. Couldn't do enough, very polite and efficient- sorry I didn't get his name.

Cons:

I had to leave !!!! God dam it !!!!

Lovely place but couldn’t recommend the food.
Pros:

We had an evening meal (two couples). The menu in the Bramley House had a few more options than we had seen online. One of us is a vegetarian and for her there were very few options. Anyway, after ordering our drinks the starters came. The soup was a little cold and the pate didn’t look so good. My wife had the fish & chips option and the batter wasn’t crisp at all. In fact the whole meal had the look of something which had previously been frozen. So the food wasn’t great but the staff were very friendly. My recommendation would be a visit for afternoon tea or high tea but not an evening meal ☹️

overall good would have rated the property 10 if not for the Mattress.
Pros:

lovely breakfast and evening meal

Cons:

Mattress on bed was very uncomfortable, springs had gone could do with replacing. I don't think a Mattress topper could save it.

Pleasant stay
Pros:

This property is lovely with lots of character. Bed very large and comfortable. Good choice of teas and coffees and a good choice on the menu. Staff friendly. Nice outside seating area and lovely dining room.

Cons:

The eggs at breakfast were overcooked. Limescale and mould in the shower was unpleasant. Could have done with more attention to detail with the cleaning.

Pros:

We've stayed here several times because it's consistently good! We now meet friends here overnight because it's mid-way and being able to get a really good dinner and breakfast on site is a real bonus.

Cons:

The pull cord in the bathroom is confusing. Despite a note and arrows, it took us a while to figure out operation of the shower.
At Christmas time the bannister up the stairs is covered in decorations, so can't be used to assist mobility. Perhaps the vertical balusters could be decorated instead?

Superb spot, great food and even better service.
Pros:

Gorgeous venue and were very accommodating at the very last minute when our original booking elsewhere had no heating! After a brief phone call they warmed up a room ready for our arrival and ensured we had a room out of earshot of the bar as we mentioned we were after some peace and quiet. Stunning rooms and gorgeous food - we even got 10% discount in the restaurant as we'd booked on their website direct (I normally book everything through booking.com). Had a lovely welcome by owner Tom every day of our stay and the town itself was so pretty lit up with Christmas lights. Will definitely be back!
