Kelleys Island Venture Resort

Booked this stay before looking at reviews, some reviews did not sound very positive. After arriving we could not find anything negative about this place. Very clean rooms, staff open and friendly pool and hot tub in very clean, working condition. We had a great 2 day stay. Some previous reviews mentioned "bugs" yes there was some very normal lake insects but being a boater we are very familiar with lake insects. Some months can be worse than others. Get over it and enjoy this property. Great views, great staff and the well above condition of this hotel. If you brought your car over for your stay, parking can get a little tricky late at night but workable.

Dirty rooms broken TVs looked out of room at 9:30 am before we wanted to check out no staff to get help dirty coffee maker. Broken bathroom exhaust fan worn out bed woke up sore. For the money not worth it

Absolutely doesn’t not worth what I paid for ( $400 for night) I don’t know even why it is calling Resort because it’s like cheap motel small stinky dirty dusty room just waste of money

The hotel was very nice a bit out of date and a little expensive, but it was on an island, the staff was great and let my family who was camping use the pool. Since it was the only choice on Kelly’s Island I would stay agian.

Super Hot pool was great

For what we paid what a disappointment. Pool and hot tub closed by the health department. Pool loungers worn out. A little money needs to be invested in this place. No one came to clean our room and stock fresh supplies. Unfriendly staff . We won’t be back.

This place was such a disappointment. We have stayed here for years, but first time since new ownership. The pool is DISGUSTING, and has not been cleaned or updated for years. They are insanely understaffed. The girl at the front desk also cleans the rooms, is maintenance and groundskeeper. The landscaping is atrocious, and this is so sad as it used to be gorgeous. The price of this room is double what is used to be a few years back, which I thought meant some great updates and service. It was really sad as this was a complete gem back in the day. Please do something to make property what is used to be and give it the updates is desperately needs. This place and the staff here need support.

Nice,quiet and clean. Fun time

The room was great! Plenty of space for us on one side and our kids on the other. The pool needs some work done on it. The view are spectacular! Great location.

It served its purpose for the night. The air conditioner didn’t work. The volume on one of two tvs didn’t work. There were weeds everywhere on the grounds. The rose bushes looked sad. Stairs has a dip on top, cause safety issue. Deck on lake had hole cover by a rock which you can see on the IG pictures, another safety issue For the amount of money they charge, I guess I expected better. Greated with smiles by front desk workers. Clean on the inside of hotel. Pool chairs are worn and need replaced. I’d prob stay on the mainland next time.

It was a great place to stay we had a blast

Beautiful property with a pool. Our room was a suite with a sofa bed in the separate room. Microwave and fridge in room. Just cleaned prior to arrival.

We've been to Kelleys many times, and we've always been interested in staying at the resort. My wife and I decided to stay there for a night to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was friendly and accomodating, and we didn't voice any concerns due to the short nature of our stay, but I will say this. Others have observed a lack of light in the suites, and that still appears to be the case. To make the suites more functional a bathroom should be added to the second floor. There needs to be working fans in the shower area. Cleaning staff covered most of the bases but left debris in some places, didn't clean out the coffee maker or ice bucket, etc. Both the vending machine and ice machine were out of order, but staff accomodated the later with a bag of ice in their freezer. In general some updates would go a long way, which is why I didn't give it five stars but we enjoyed our visit overall.

The room was very spacious and slept up to six in real beds. We loved that there was a separate upstairs with two beds, large closet and sitting area. The location was super convenient to both town and the West Bay Inn for sunsets.

Clean, quite and convenient.

We arrived to check in at 3:45 and there was not a soul in the office for us to check in. Then when we went to check out a day early, because the entire island was pretty much closed for the season. We checked out at 7:15, again, not a sole in the office and the lights were all out and doors locked. We left our key cards in the room and left. Hope they realized we checked out on Saturday and don't charge us extra days. It said to drop the keys off in the office upon checking out, but that is kind of hard to do when the office is closed and locked. We definitely won't be back!

A newer hotel with beautiful grounds. The room was actually a suite.

Being on Lake Erie is very nice. Kelleys island is quaint and well worth a visit.
Interior is in need of updates and new carpeting.
Lighting is very poor, especially around the pool.
Understaffed.
Bicycles used to be available here and bugs used to be swept from the exterior by former owner of property.
