Categories

Cleanliness
7.8
Multiple guests praised cleanliness and renovated bathrooms; a few reported a suspicious mark and one room had a moldy odor, so overall above average but not flawless.
Service
7
Staff are generally friendly and helpful when present (assisted with entry/code), but property is often understaffed after mid-afternoon and housekeeping was described as unfriendly or inattentive.
Location
8.8
Frequently highlighted as a major positive — great for walking and public transport and repeatedly called 'great location'; main downside is proximity to a noisy freeway and limited parking for drivers.
Room Quality
6
Rooms are described as comfortable and clean by many, but there are recurring issues: thin walls/noisy neighbors, occasional clogged sinks, broken fans or AC, low water pressure, and some shared-bathroom configurations.
Amenities
5.5
Limited amenities: snacks available but no breakfast, no reception or room service for some guests, and parking is costly or hard to find — overall somewhat lacking.
Value for Money
6.5
Mixed signals: some guests called it good value and would repeat, while at least one guest felt it was overpriced for weekday stays; overall slightly below or near average value.
Food and Beverage
5
Very limited F&B: guests noted no breakfast service, though snacks were available; overall a weak area compared with expectations.
Overall Experience
6.2
Overall mixed — strong location and generally clean, comfortable rooms, and helpful staff when present, but noise, occasional maintenance problems, limited staffing and amenities lower the overall experience.

Good location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff.
Pros:

Location, room comfort.

Cons:

Check in process is a bit annoying but ok, walls are thin, unfortunately we had a very noisy person next to us, so I didn’t sleep very well the whole time.

A good morning would make a little better .
Pros:

Location

Cons:

You can hear everything coming from the rooms next door. The air conditioner was broken, there was only one employee working on the property after 4 pm only . The housekeeper never said “hi,” “good morning,” or “how are you?” She would walk right past guests as if they didn’t exist, I did not feel welcome in this place .

Lovely hotel for those on foot or public transport. Thanks for our stay.
Pros:

Lovely hotel, nicely decorated & clean, only a suspicious mark on the bathroom wall that'd been missed, or would have had full points there

Cons:

Parking. Not a place to go if you are driving as expensive to park or else very challenging to park free

Close to work activities, not transparent, not clean.
Pros:

Proximity to conference

Cons:

The hotel has provided conflicting information that does not match what's on their listing. I booked this hotel for a staff member for a work trip.
First, they email you a registration card a few days before check-in that you have to fill out in order to get the key codes to the property and room. I sent this to my coworker to fill out and she noted that during this process, they make you provide your credit card information and that they included a bullet point saying that there is a "daily Amenity Fee of $25 plus tax...which includes access to the Amenity Room, morning breakfast snacks, and in-room coffee maker with complimentary coffee, a billiards table, and a fire pit area for evening gatherings."
They emailed me a few hours before check-in with a link to pay an invoice of $121.97. I asked them to clarify what this charge was for and they responded saying, "The additional $121.97 is an amenity fee, it's $25 per night plus tax. It covers high-speed WiFi, access to the amenity room with a pool table and coffee station, and light breakfast snacks."
I responded saying that none of this was disclosed upon booking my room nor is it on their listing.
They responded and their reasoning for the charge changed, "The amenity fee is a required charge imposed by the City of San Diego on all hospitality businesses...With that said, the charge is valid."

Additionally, my coworker reported many issues with the room that were not resolved during her stay.
Day 1: Reported that there were fruit flies in room. Was assured the issue would be addressed.
Day 2: Returned to room find that it had not been serviced. At that time, there were no towels or hand soap, and the fruit flies were still present. Contacted hotel that afternoon.
Day 3: Contacted hotel again.
Day 4: Room was finally serviced. The fruit fly issue persisted through the remainder of stay, until departure on Day 5.
