I booked this hotel based on location, and the fact it was tied to AHR convention and that the hotel offered shuttles. This was very important to me. Also it had a pool and excercise facilities "on site".
So get in the room, very nice room and appeared clean. Had a long day of travel go to take a shower and it was full of hair.. Not a great feeling and no rebate or any consideration was offered. This is not a cheap place to stay.
Next the staff had absolutely no idea or gave a xxxk to try and help with shuttle. Told me to go to Aria maybe it is there. I asked were at Aria the front desk staff walked away from me. Just said go to Aria.
I asked for a supervisor, and was told they are busy..
It was actually very embarrassing to me and not knowing Vegas at all, very frustrating.
So having to make a meeting you don't have time to be walking all over. Uber or taxi it was.
The pool also was closed at Vdara, and was again told go to Aria. Aria closes pool at 4pm? Which they were not joking. From 3pm to 4pm you are reminded every 2 min. And you are walked out by security at 3:59. The pool area was very busy so a lot of very confused people. Coming from -20f weather the pool and sun was a dream to me.
Honestly most staff are not all interested in being polite or helpfull. They are quick to want a $20 though or more for a tip.
I did have a very helpfull guy at consierge named Randy. Who went above and beyond at Vdara to assist me with storing luggage before my 1030pm flight.
To sum up Vdara. Very nice hotel, but most staff are not at all polite or helpfull. Any question or request is met with a look of confusion or you can see "man I wish this guy would go away". I can see why Vegas is not busy and the total lack of customer service is very evident.
I have never felt more like Larry David in a Curb episode with my interactions with Vdara front desk.
FYI on the third and last day there a chart for shuttle was there.. kinda funny
Not sure I would want to go back again anytime soon. Vdara left a bad tatse and Vegas in general just really needs a wake up call with being more customer orientated.
Room was nice, large and modern. They did try to accommodate me when I requested a scent free room because of allergies. However, the day after we arrived, I called the front desk to let them know of some problems: The toilet kept coming on all day and night so there must be a leaking flapper. The pad supplied in all the rooms was not functioning at all. So, many of the services available (including hotel map) were not something we could access. The safe did not work, so I had to carry around a think wallet wherever I went. They said they would send maintenance. Maintenance never arrived. Additionally: No conceriege desk so we couldn't get maps of Las Vegas or any help. Poor choices for breakfast. No place to get a simple breakfast anywhere nearby. The cafe downstairs and Starbucks were pretty limited.
While the Vdara is ideal for those who prefer to avoid the constant presence of a casino and the lingering smell of tobacco, the property is beginning to show signs of aging.
During my stay, I encountered several issues:
Technology: The in-room tablet, which is supposed to provide essential information like minibar pricing, was out of order. The staff informed me they had no replacements or even printed versions of the information. Additionally, the TV is not a Smart TV, so you cannot stream your own content.
Maintenance: The shower door seal was ineffective, leading to a flooded bathroom floor after every shower.
Location & Accessibility: Unlike its sister property, the Aria, which has direct access to the Strip, the Vdara feels like an island. You can only leave the premises by car or by commuting through adjacent hotels.
It’s a great choice for peace and quiet, but the maintenance and tech updates are definitely lagging.
Everything about this hotel was top notch!
The Parlour Suite was big with a dividing panel between the bed and living area. So nice to have a little space in a Vegas hotel room.
They were nice enough to allow us to check in at 9am with no extra fee. The room was incredible with a better view than we have ever had at any other casino. 51st floor with a view of the strip, including the Sphere and Bellagio fountains.
Large bathroom with full corner bathtub and full walk in shower. Great thick towels and nice amenities.
Loved that the rideshare was right outside the front door...there is enough walking in Vegas without having to hike a mile to rideshare (the reason we checked out early from Aria and moved to Vdara). The link to Cosmo and Bellagio is also through Vdara.
Beds were more comfortable and lower here.
Only odd thing was how short everything was. The toilet was so low that with a new knee recently, I could barely squat low enough to sit on it. Then I had to use the oddly low shower door bar to stand up. The bathroom sink was also low. In addition, the living room furniture was super short. The coffee table was just a tad taller than a popcorn box, and I needed help to get up off the sofa (although it was much more comfortable than Aria).
The room did have a coffee maker and fridge that can be used. In addition, the bellman brought us up some bottles of water with our luggage. Such a great service!
There was an issue we needed an engineer for, and one was sent up within 30 minutes.
No robes or slippers where provided here, and the safe was very small....the laptop would not fit.
The only breakfast spot cost $48 for a mini quiche, croissant and breakfast sandwich.
Main drawback is the hotel is pet friendly...which means the dogs in the room next to us barked all hours of the night. The only option was for us to move, even through the guests on the other side and across the hall complained too. It was the policy. I had to take a sleeping pill to sleep through the barking. NOT great service for this level of hotel....and they don't have designated pet rooms....which means every room could have pet pee/poop and dander.
We always stay here because the views of the fountains are great and the rooms have ample space. Was VERY disappointed that room service is not a bunch of food served in containers. We had a lovely kitchen and a table and they brought up our meal in a ton of plastic containers.
The city corner suite was right across the base from housekeeping’s room- sometimes loud
Great Class customer service, nice suite and wonderful rooms view on the strip. I really recommend this great Hotel. Night Shift Manger is Excellent has great customer service skills and very welcoming
Very nice rooms and service but surprised with the lack of restaurants. Also be prepared to be gouged for purchases made in the hotel, especially your room. Our room came with a kitchenette with no plates, silverware, glasses coffee like you normally get in any other hotel. If you want a Kuerig, it can be delivered for 20/day. Since I had to stay an additional day, I transferred to an upgraded room that had a Kureug but the two coffee pods were 9.00 each. A pack of Vdara gummy bears 17.00, small pringles 18.00 and a small Fuji water @ 14.00. So why is tourism down in Las Vegas??? This!!! People will pay a fair price but nobody likes the feeling of getting screwed over. I'm at Ambassador status in Marriott so that means I stay in hotels all over but this is one that will be removed from my list. Too much Greed.
This is a nonsmoking, non gambling hotel that is off the strip. It was quiet and clean. The room was average for the cost. The biggest downside is that there are no restaurants on the Vdara property. There is a Starbucks and another little cafe but that’s it. You will need to walk across the street to the Aria to find several restaurants. Here’s a secret…the Vdara has room service! It is a $10 service charge for delivery and is not otherwise more expensive than the restaurants at the Aria. I was amazed at how fast my food came (15 minutes one time and 10 the other). The meals were hot and there were several options to choose from. Go this route and skip going to the Aria to eat. There is a little dining table in the kitchenette so there is a quaint place to eat in your room.
Awesome hotel, especially the staffs! Love the location. Overall, it was awesome! Could be better communicating on the parking with MGM Properties (Vdara, Mandalay Bay, etc). But other than that it was awesome!
You can’t fault this hotel - it is everything that I need in Vegas. Check in was smooth, the rooms are incredible. The lobby is pleasant away from the noise and massive stimulation of casino hotels.maybe the only downside is that the hotel is slightly off the strip, but also nice to escape the hustle and bustle of the strip
This was my second stay at Vdara, and I used Marriott points for our stay. Overall, it is a solid choice. It is a great location, connected to Bellagio and the Cosmo with a walkway. It is also in the same drop off as the Aria. So you can easily get to casinos, as well as the strip. There is not a casino in the hotel, which was part of the draw. The rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. We both worked remotely on Friday, and were able to do so easily. There is a great spot for brunch in the lobby, which also has a great bar for a nightcap. There is a well equipped gym, which wasn't too busy when I went.
Great room with view. Easy access to Vegas strip. Value for money and comfortable stay
Hard to reach staff through phone.
We loved this non casino hotel, much more peaceful but right in the heart of the action too!
This particular studio is private owned which meant it’s only serviced on the day you leave. You can pay a fee to hotel to get daily cleaning if you want.
However hotel provided extra towels, toilet rolls and kitchen ware as soon as we asked.
It’s super spacious and the bed including the large sofa bed were so comfy.
The benefit of being private owned was we had NO extra resort fees to pay!
Highly recommend for an awesome stay in Vegas
Nothing
Booked a Panoramic Suite for my son and I while he was here for a football tournament. Thought it would be fun to have a large room with a view... On the 5th floor with a view of the wall and massive lights shining into the room. We're Marriott Gold members (and booked a higher room) and they said there was nothing they could do about it. Won't be staying here again... If you book a "Panoramic Room," be sure you don't get the bottom floor where you have a panoramic view of a wall!
Stayed in the "studio parlor suite" -- for solo travelers or married couples on a short visit, this room is ideal - plenty of space but not more than you need (as if often the case with full suites). The artwork on the walls is an unfortunate choice (that shade of green is not relaxing!), but otherwise the room is well-appointed (right down to enough coffee for 4 cups). My room was not particularly close to the elevator, but the walk from the lobby was pleasantly short compared to other Vegas properties. You make up for it, though, with the somewhat off-Strip location -- if you want to walk to high-end casinos, pools, and restaurants, you're all set -- Cosmopolitan and Bellagio are 5-10 minutes away with no need to go outdoors. (Aria requires a couple minutes outdoors if you don't want to wait for the tram, enough that I'd think twice on a really hot day). If you prefer a short walk to fast food, affordable sundries, and mall shops, then it's more like 10-15 minutes with significant time outdoors and crowd-fighting. The lobby is fairly busy but there's plenty of space and it's typically relaxed and quiet if you want to get out of the room for a bit. The on-site restaurants did not seem too crowded, and there is a 24-hour place with a mini-market. A nice plus for being near but not on the Strip is that unlike other nearby properties, you usually won't see junkies loitering right outside the entrance. If you're considering Aria, Vdara often seems quite a bit less expensive at the cost of a couple of extra minutes of walking (my favorite part of Aria, the Patisserie late at night, is literally right inside the door facing Vdara).
This was the perfect hotel for Vegas, it has great rooms and pools. It is connected to the Cosmopolitan and leads into the Bellagio, without paying the big price. This hotel does not have a casino. Tat was great as less busy and less smoke. Walking distance to most things. Small taxi ride to Venetian and Paris hotel. The Venetian is amazing. The paris and flamingo hotels are looking very tired. You have to try and crepes i the Bellagio area.
Beautiful corner executive corner suite room...that was pretty much the highlight of our stay. The rest went down the hill quickly...We had encountered quite a few troubles staying at the hotel and it made the experience not so pleasant:
1. waited in a long line for check-in just to find out our assigned executive suite was on the 6th floor when we had previously requested a much higher floor. I had to ask again to finally get a room on the 15th floor. Not a nice experience. I didn't have to work this hard at the Hilton Resorts World nor Venetian.
2. living room TV broken and shower drain was clogged. I requested front desk to fix them and was told that $50 credit will be given to compensate for the inconvenience. Checked again on the checkout day and was told by the front desk staff that once we hit the Checkout button from the page on TV, the credit will be given. None of that happened and still did not receive the credit despite emailing the front desk after the check-out day. Liars!!!
3. my son was rudely told by front desk and a staff on the 43rd floor to leave or they will call security. He happened to exit on another floor as he was exploring the hotel and the staff was rude to him. They could've talked to him nicely but they threatened him. Jerks working at the hotel. Who wants to pay $450/night to be rudely treated by morons that have no idea what customer service really means.
4. house keeping did not fold or put away the living room sofa bed's sheets/pillows and just threw them on the couch.
It’s as though nobody cares. I reserved a room through Marriott Bonvoy with Elite status. I opted for 1) no housekeeping and 2) $20 food and beverage credit instead of points. I got housekeeping I didn’t want and no food and beverage credit for a meal that was on their list of participating venues. Because they don’t send the folio until an hour after you check out, I had to create a dispute using an online form while at the airport. The folio dispute form online indicated errors, but not what kind of errors in what fields. It would not allow me to submit the dispute online. I had to screenshot it and send it to Vdara Guest Services via e-mail. No response yet. The TV didn’t work and I requested a service call after 10 AM while I planned to be out. I confirmed this and gave permission to enter and fix the TV while I was gone, after 10, when maintenance called my room. Not more than 5 minutes later, a cheerful maintenance tech arrived at my door. It’s as though not a single person in this organization listened to my requests or honored them. This used to be my go to place to stay. Ugh.
Love this hotel, love the location, rooms, atmosphere and staff. Fabulous bar downstairs, Starbucks, Market to grab snacks. Easy walk to Aria, Park, NYNY and even easier walk to Bellagio and Cosmo. Easy access to Uber and Taxis. Close to the freeway for easy access to places off the strip as well.
Always enjoy our stays at Vdara. No casino so you don’t have that mass of people to deal with. Location is great…most things on strip are easy walking distance. Beautiful facility. Get a room with Bellagio fountains view!
