I didn't stay they were closed when I arrived and I came from out of state to stay had to find another hotel to stay in but was not what I wanted for me and my fiance 😞
The property looks abandoned and there are homeless people living there. I saw them roaming around the property and inside the place as well....staff was useless as they didn't provide any information as to why they couldn't attend me. This place is a homeless shelter , not a hotel.
Wasnt set up like a regular hotel, lobby was a cubby down a side hallway. Billed me twice under separate names. Gave me the run around when i tried to get the wrong one refunded. Place was kind of beat up and dingy. Parking lot area seemed sketchy.
They cancelled my reservation
This has been the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Upon check in I was given a complete filthy room that had blood all over the pillow and bed, the counters were filthy, the room was absolutely disgusting. We were given another room and this room was just as disgusting and filthy minus a blood covered bed. We also discovered a room with a door kicked in while heading to this room. Now we are feeling completely unsafe as well. Went back to the reception desk and was given a third room. Again another filthy disgusting room, at this point I am tired and just want to get some rest after a 16 hr drive so I decided to just ask for clean linen and cleaning supplies so I could just clean the room my self and was told that I could have neither. I decided to go to the store and buy my own cleaning supplies to clean the room and thankfully had my own blankets. Worst experience ever especially with the amount of money I paid. This place is completely falsely advertised and is nothing as the pictures show.
The website says ev charger. There was none. The sink in room had a stain.
Convenient to where I needed to be. Like the fact that shopping was very walkable and the property was very clean in the staff was very kind and helpful.
I did about the note, but the staff the cleanliness and breakfast made up for that
This hotel has taken care of us and made our stay as comfortable as possible. Clean rooms and clean bathrooms. You can’t beat the awesome housekeepers and front desk employees.
You could hear the traffic on Hwy 99. The room, although was clean, was tattered and dated. Ripped cushions on the furniture, peeling wallpaper, chipped paint. The entire facility smelled strongly of PineSol which gave me a headache. The breakfast was mainly prepackaged items. I stayed here 8 years ago and was impressed so I didn't hesitate this time. I will never stay here again.
Property had great potential. Cant wait to see it remodel
It is supposedly being remodeled but I didn't see any evidence of that. The carpet everywhere was disgustingly filthy. Everything in the refrigerator froze solid.
Don't be fooled by the fancy "Ascend Hotel Collection" branding by Choice Hotels. La Casa Modesto is on par with their "Quality Inn" brand; which is to say, it's on the low end of the quality scale.
The King Bed room I was given, had extremely poor lighting (one dim lamp), no hangers, and a stale smell. The hotel itself is poorly designed, resembling a building that was once a small town convention center.
Lastly, the business practices of this hotel leaves much to be desired charging a $100 "deposit" which, unlike other hotel deposits, actually gets charged to your credit card, which then takes 10 days to clear.
Shame on Choice Hotels for its equivalent of putting lipstick on a pig.
We stayed in a Jacuzzi suite. The hot tub was very nice but it didn't even have a plug. All in all the room was nice. The AC did not work properly though by the bedroom and the breakfast was horrible. Nothing was restocked and it did not taste. Very good. Staff was very nice and generous.
Na
The hotel cleanliness was not there. The carpets/floors in the hallways were stained and it smelled like cigarette even though its a non smoking facility. Our room was average, you get what you pay for. I would not stay here again.
When we go to Modesto it's our favorite place everyone is so nice there.
Only issue I have lighting is low. Need at least one lamp that is bright.
First, I had a hard time finding this hotel. GPS took me to this rundown building that had another hotel name on it. Finally I found an entrance with huge hand painted signs with arrows pointing to the entrance. It was weird, it didn't look a lobby just a grimy hallway that revealed the reception desk. The main reason for my low score was an intense odor of mold or mildew - probably from the grimy carpet. It made feel physically ill. It was hard to breath so I asked for a refund. They said no. So I quickly left the hotel. Gross! Expedia's photos and reviews were very misleading.
This place has things like the tickets don't work using the card And The doors to the rooms are not very secure and there has been construction going on for a year and nothing has changed.
It was loud wirh other people
