Manuscript- Jhilwara Haveli

The vibes of the place are amazing and it is a beautiful property. The food is scrumptious and the hospitality is even more lovely. 100% recommended.

It’s a 100 year old heritage property converted in to a hotel recently (2 yrs). The hotel has the freshness and the interiors are done well. The property is close to City Palace, Jag Mandir and Jagdish Mandir - so accessibility is great. Food is also excellent. Every morning Gopal Ji plays some amazing flute which enhances the feel of the place. Would strongly recommend.

5 stars for the location, the ambience ( Manuscript : books in all corners ) the rooms, the service and the restaurant. The hotel is walking distance from the City Palace. The room was spacious, light and clean. Friendly helpful staff. There is a small pool on the roof, good for a dip or some exercise in the morning.

I stayed at Manuscript Jhilwara Haveli in Udaipur for one night, and it was a truly pleasant experience. True to its name, the property reflects the charm and elegance of a traditional Haveli. The ambience was serene and beautifully maintained.

The room was spacious, with a wonderfully comfortable bed and thoughtful details—from well-stocked bathroom amenities to gleaming washbasin taps. The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from the City Palace, which made exploring the area very convenient.

Breakfast was decent, and what really stood out was the warm hospitality. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and the service was top-notch throughout the stay.

Highly recommended, especially for families looking for a comfortable and authentic stay in Udaipur!

Located near the bylanes of city palace this is an amazing property with really pretty rooms, and an unmatched vibe. MUCH recommended .

Can’t say enough nice things about this place! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We liked the candy at the front desk, and one of the staff arranged to have some ordered for us and delivered to our room! We took the Breakfast Tour with Ravi, which was super fun and tasty! The rooftop pool that looks out at the palace is so serene—we spent hours relaxing in the pool and taking it in. The restaurant was great as well. The location is fantastic, and it was clean and well maintained. We have traveled all over the world, and this is one of the best places we have ever stayed, dollar for dollar.

Well maintained hotel, spacious bedrooms and toilet. Marbled floors and rooms are well maintained.

The design of the property gives a sense of home away from home, plants outside the door, wrap around corridors.

The rooftop allows for leisurely dining, overlooking the City Palace museum.

When selecting a la carte, the waiting staff will always as the Chillie/spice preference for local food.

A musician is in house playing local music during breakfast and dinner.

The only downside is that there are steps to get to the reception, and may not be suitable for those less able.

The place is conveniently located in the old city, very close to the city palace. Everything one would need is walking distance away.
It a beautifully decorated haveli, everything seems fresh and well maintained. The rooms are simple but comfortable.
The staff were great, very attentive, polite and friendly, always smiling.
My partner and I had an allergic reaction to something (not at the hotel, probably to some blooming trees), the staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable (especially manager Deepak and the AC specialist), they even bought an air purifier and placed it in our room next day. Great service!
There is a restaurant at the rooftop with a mesmerising view of the city palace! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable again. There was a traditional life music too, which made the night even more wonderful.
Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, 100% recommended!

Manuscript - Jhilwara Haveli was an amazing hotel with a great location.
We enjoyed breakfast and dinner at the hotel particularly the rooftop. Great service throughout the hotel Tulsi provide amazing service at Breakfast and Dinner. The rooms are very clean and spacious beautifully appointed. If you are looking for a clean, modern, newer hotel this is a perfect place to stay. The courtyard was very quiet and relaxing nice getaway from the streets of Udaipur. There quite a few nice places to sit and relax around the hotel. Highly recommend staying at Manuscript!!!!

Great property & staff

Lovely hotel tucked away behind the City Palace. Amazing location and walkable to all the close tourist spots (or easy to pick up an Otto/ Tuk Tuk). Room was great and very comfortable. Staff and service let the hotel down a bit. Everything was very slow, staff didn’t seem very friendly and food was very average unfortunately.

Stayed for 3N in February.

Since we were 3 adults, we had booked the Premier Room, which was huge and perfect for our stay.

The bf spread is decent (don’t compare it to a 5 star property) and the staff is courteous and helpful!

The terrace provides an excellent view of the city palace and Udaipur city so definitely stop by ! Even if you aren’t staying here, you can stop by for a meal.

The location is excellent - literally steps away from the City Palace. While some part of the old city are not accessible via car, thankfully this hotel isn’t! So no issue while coming from airport.

Loved the rooftop restaurant and food. Very central to City Palace and all historic sites and staff is lovely.

Bad smell from bathroom and minimal natural light, and rattling noise from suitcases rolling along serrated ramps (Room 210), and poor English among front staff, made this a place we won't return to.

Great shopping in the area. Very centrally located so you can walk to the City Palace, the Jagdish Temple, and the Ghats of the lake.

Beautiful property

The hotel was in a suitable, historic style for its location and purpose. Facilities and services were good.
Let down by minor faults, e.g. the confusing locations of light and other switches, some poor finishing of work around the fittings and decor, etc.

A beautiful Haveli just behind the palace with a great roof top restaurant with great views. The food is excellent. The staff are really helpful and polite. The Haveli is just a short walk from the place, old town and the lake side. We really enjoyed our stay here.
