We come to Elkins often as our son goes to college there. We will always stay at the Tigart

We loved the location and historic features of the hotel. We were somewhat disappointed with room accommodations.
Pros:

Location was great. It was within walking distance to restaurants, shops and train station. Parking was very conveniently located behind hotel.

Cons:

The bedding in our room was terrible. The sheets were too short for the bed and it made for an uncomfortable night’s sleep. Also, the pocket door for the bathroom didn’t close fully and the bathroom needs more than one hook for hanging towels considering the room could hold up to 4 guests.

Overall it's a good value in a great location
Pros:

The mattress wasn't comfortable. It was like it was worn out. Also parking was terrible!!! We were there 5 nights and were only able to park in the hotel lot once. The rest of the time we had to use street parking. The hotel staff admitted to us on check out that parking is a constant issue

Cons:

Fix the parking issues and get better mattress and you would have a great hotel

Pros:

The room was very comfortable. I really liked that I could control the heating and air conditioning myself. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

I did not like all of the hidden fees which showed up when I went to finalize and pay my bills. For example I am not opposed to a "historic building" fee but I had no idea that it was going to show up. The fees add quite a bit to the total price. Perhaps people who travel more often would have expected that but I did not. I would rather see it up front and I may have chosen another place even though the Tygart is very nice. It was just more than I could afford and I got angry about it.

Pros:

This is a great location. Our room
Was very clean with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was good. There is a restaurant on site that looks great but we did not have time to try. Outside each floor near the elevators were fascinating stories and pictures showing the history of the area. This was about 50 minutes from the Historic Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum.

This is a great boutique hotel to stay when in the Elkins area - walkable to shops and restaurants.
Pros:

The lobby/lounge area is beautiful, as is the balcony/sitting area facing the main street. Cookies at the front desk were such a nice surprise! The fresh flowers in the bar area were beautiful. The room layout and decor was very functional and nice.

Cons:

The AC unit is very loud when it cuts on. The bartender was so sweet, but the cocktails we had were very weak.

Hotel bem localizado junto à estação histórica de Elkins. Bom parque de estacionamento com fácil acesso ao interior do hotel. Bom restaurante com boa ementa de comida regional.

Cons:

Pequeno almoço está disponível na zona do bar junto á entrada do hotel tornando pouco confortável

Pros:

Parking in the rear of building, can walk to almost anything you could possibly need. Staff very friendly and helpful
