Room was large and clean, staff was very friendly and helpful
Funky smell in the hallways, Wifi set to kick guests off in less than a day and weak signal, room smelled a bit at first, bathroom counter was TINY
It was beautifully restored but with the necessary modern elements.
I had to move the coffee pot because I couldn’t plug it in behind the dresser. The dresser was too heavy to move, so the coffee pot was plugged into an outlet in the bathroom. A very minor inconvenience 🙂 I understand that there are residential units on the floors above us and we could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways, but not once in the room. Not sure if that would be an issue if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke
Very impressive with the old mixed in with the new.
With not much open on a Sunday evening, the price should have been discounted.

Everything was great!
It was across the street from the museum and the Roma restaurant was within the hotel building. The parking garage was very close to the side entrance. The room was large enough. I liked that I had an end room. The coffee machine and refrigerator were great. Lots of drawers for clothes. Carpet was nice. Full length mirror. Internet. Plenty of towels.
The windows are not see through, you can’t see anything at all. There isn’t a microwave. There isn’t enough lighting in the room, I felt closed in with that and the windows that you can’t see through.
The first evening shower was lukewarm, I had to call the front desk, but nothing could be done since it’s an old building. I was also told to let it run for a while in the morning. Lucky for me it was hot enough the rest of my stay.
TV wasn’t allowing me to select channels and again that first night I had to call the front desk. The young lady at the front desk had to come into my room late in the evening and since she couldn’t figure it out she called the manager and it was just a small button up at the top of the controller that just had letters you would never associate it with to begin the selection of channels.
I suggested they put a note on the TV.
The clock radio was not set but because every time I looked at it there on the night stand I was constantly having to pull out my cell phone, so I went online to figure out the hidden menu’s to set it correctly.
I was told at the front desk that he didn’t know how to set it. I explained how I did it.
There wasn’t enough hangers in the room and I didn’t ask for more, I just layered.
There isn’t a table in the room to enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry if you’re lucky enough to get one in the morning. They don’t put too many pastries out.
Although there is a small desk in the room, but I had all my keys, purse and jewelry on it and there was a lamp. The big upholstered chair at the desk was a nice touch but entirely too heavy to roll over the thick carpet to try and adjust near the desk to sit and eat.
The lighting was one over head at the entrance, bed side lamp and desk lamp.
That’s it. You might think these issues aren’t too bad, but when you’re paying a higher price than the surrounding hotels you expect a greater experience.
The room accommodated 3 adults and 2 young kids comfortably. Very clean and nicely decorated. Great mattresses provided a restful sleep.
When we had some difficulty with the TV, no one was onsite at the desk to assist nor answered the phone # listed to call for assistance. We did arrive late in the evening, and we finally figured it out, but it would have been nice to reach someone regarding our questions, or get a call back.
Close to hospital!
Very quiet. Nice updates to the rooms!
We enjoyed our stay and like when old building are repurposed. It is a nice hotel and clean. Only draw back was we didn’t have much hot water for showers.
The hotel is on the national historic registry and as such is a delight and unique stay. A nice change over the big chain motels.
Overall a very good experience. I would stay there again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Mini fridge would be a great addition.
