Hotel Belle Via Tokyo

The room was quite run-down. There were holes in the walls, and the bed was so hard that I woke up with a very stiff neck and back. I had to sleep on top of the blanket to get any comfort. The walls are thin and we could hear the nextdoor neighbors laughing, washing dishes, taking a shower, etc. the bidet on the toilet didn't work either.

We asked to upgrade the room because our first room didn't have curtains, and the pictures of the upgraded room showed curtains, but when we came into the room, there were absolutely no curtains! Even if the window faced a wall, and there was only some light coming through, it would have been nice to shut the curtain. That's the whole reason we upgraded and paid more.

There was a very moldy smell coming out of the AC, and in the shower area. The shower floor was extremely gross and dirty. The shared slippers smelled like feet, so I was hesitant to use them, but the floor in the room was very dirty, so I felt it was necessary to wear the slippers.

I know it's a two star hotel, but I don't think it was worth the price at all. I honestly don't recommend this hotel. For that price, there's definitely way better options. I normally don't complain about a hotel like this, but I was pretty dissatisfied with the whole thing. Definitely not the right price.

The only good thing is that customer service was helpful when upgrading the room, but the guy at reception couldn't speak Japanese or English, so it was a bit frustrating when checking in.

Great place to stay. Peter was really friendly on check-in. Super easy check-out. Close to Otsuka station. Will stay again for sure.

Met the owner of the property, cool dude. Offered to take me for a ride in his yellow honda beat. If you get lost in the area, just look for that car and you are back😂. If you are okder, the stairs at the property might be an issue as they are very steep. The rooms were spacious, clean and had an interesting layout. The hotel is around a 9-10 min walk from otsuka station which will take you anywhere you need to go in tokyo. Amazing stay for the price!

Quaint rooms that are very clean

This place went above and beyond in service and accommodations! I Highly recommend this location if you want the “local feel” of the city, not too far from train station to get to downtown while also having ample selections to restaurants down the street!

Convenient location - 10 minute walk to Otsuka or Shin-Otsuka stations. Shared showers / bathroom were kept clean and well stocked with towels & toiletries.

Perfect location if you want to stay in a residential area - it’s close enough to the station of Ostuka (30 ish min from shibuya) and quiet all day long. There are restaurants and stores, and everything you might need. Staff is available and friendly if you need anything 24/7, I had the best time! It’s honestly amazing for the price. Will definitely come back when in Tokyo.

It takes 8 mins walk from JR Otsuka Station. The hostel should renovate from a old house. The hoat ia friendly but not always stay in the hostel. The room ia relatively larger than a standard Japanese Hotel. It's not shared room but shared bathroom and wash room. The room is cleaned but the mattress is very hard, I can't sleep well during the stay.The bathroom is quite ok, water pressure is high. However, the washroom is very small, not easy to go in and use it. Not recommend for long staying.

A tidy place close to the yamamoto line, makes it easy to travel anywhere in tokyo. Peter the host was so welcoming gave me great recommendations on where to eat.

The stairs are too narrow and it is difficult to carry luggage.

Good service, helpful owners. Everything proveded that we needed. Wonderful stay at accommodation.

The property was clean and the owner is very nice. The room was a bit small, but it was still a very pleasant experience. Will consider staying again for our next Japan trip.

清潔で綺麗でした。

チェックイン前に荷物を預けられるか問合せしたが、移動日当日に回答が来てチェックイン前に立ち寄る時間に間に合わなかった。
無人でのチェックインには問題なかったが、上の点だけは残念。

あと地上波テレビが見られるチューナー機能がなかったが、今時それで困る人は少なそうなので。
（うっかりアニメ配信動画を1クール分見てしまった）
