If you are looking for traditional japan room, this is the place!
Pros:

The staff was very kind and the room was absolutely impressive! It was exactely what we were searching in Japan. Of all the places we stayed in Japan this room was the best.
Onsen was great also!

期待以上でした、大満足です。
Pros:

リノベーションしたのか、施設自体比較的キレイでした。
また、アメニティ関連もセルフピックアップ形式でしたが、細かく行き届いておりました。
スタッフの方も丁寧で、とても気持ちよく滞在できました。

ロケーション的には近くのセブンイレブンまで歩いてすぐなので、その点もよかったです。

Cons:

朝食にもう少しタンパク質が欲しかった。
ただ400円という破格の安さなので、卵かけご飯またはお茶漬けというのも納得ではあります。

Great staff, great cost, great view, great traditional Japanese hotel and a spacious room.
Pros:

I checked in late so only saw one staff that night. He was nice, pleasant and attentive. The lady I saw when leaving my room for check out was also nice. The room was bigger than I expected, and was clean. I enjoyed the traditional design (one main room and another section at the window with a view to rest and enjoy with a little fridge. I was also surprised with the extra area at the front door area. The view was beautiful with the lake and the alps in the distance with a crisp air (it was a winter morning). They had a yukata for a child as well. The cost of one night stay and no cost to a toddler were super reasonable for the quality I received at this place. I also found a convenience store very close although I did not need to go. They offer a simple breakfast and dinner at a low price too. The heater was very efficient, so did not feel the coldness at all and the hot water (which was very hot) came put from the tap very quickly.

Cons:

Nothing from me:) I am from Japan, living overseas. To me I enjoyed every part of the night at the place (e.g. the room, the building, everything I remember from when I was a kid). Depending on each person's expectations (esp for overseas travelers maybe?), they might want more??? E.g. newer building (it is a 40 year old hotel which i loved more than new fancy accommodations), not needing to set up futon by yourself, big dining services within the hotel.

清潔で、スタッフがあたたかかったです。
Pros:

スタッフの方々がとても感じよく接してくださいました。
賄いカレーも美味しかったです。
部屋も隅々まで清掃され、清潔でした。

Cons:

外国人の宿泊客が上の階で暴れていて、大変うるさかったです。
でもホテルのせいではないです。
国籍関係なく、皆が快適に利用できるように客側が気をつけるべきです。
