Whilst appreciating that Gujarat does not have luxury hotels, this is the worst one we experienced on our travels around the region. The room (208) was very tired, with stained chairs and, dangerously, a broken glass surface on the dressing table. The bathroom fittings were old, broken and dirty.
We ate in the restaurant where our meal took over 50 minutes to arrive. The food was reasonable but we were past wanting to eat by then. To be avoided!

Was obviously once a lovely grand place, but now let down considerably by its management. I presume the royal ownership is uninterested in the basics of hotel management. They don’t respond to messages, and haven’t sufficiently trained staff (which is a shame, as the pay seem willing to help). My wife visited the property 30 years before and recalls a much better experience. Other Gujerati heritage properties we’ve stayed at have been much better managed. For the price being charged, I would give it a miss

Old hotel, needs maintenance, plumbing issue in our room, food quality was average, tea was terrible . Location and area of the property is good as it’s a palace but it’s become old. TV in the room was old and outdated in this era of smart TV

Since my first stay in 2007, an occasional visitor to Bhavnagar, experiencing a Royal ambience, very courteous staff, tasteful menu and good reception overall. Rooms are spacious, could have been provided with dental kit and a comb. Rooms are comfortable and clean.
One of the worst experience I've faced till now. I've travelled many cities now, first I check the reviews of the hotel before booking, so ss I've saw good reviews about this hotel Nilambaug Palace Hotel, Bhavnagar, i booked a deluxe room with king bed. I already contacted the property before my arrival that I'll arrive around 2-3 am in the morning so keep my room ready. As I've arrived i was first unable to find hotel entrance, afterwards I checked in and I got twin bed room. I asked them that I've booked Deluxe King Bed Room for which I've paid 2k extra they said they don't have any deluxe room available, and in their system was showing I've booked twin bed. The hotel staff didn't gave any response to my questions, the room was bad, bedsheets weren't clean, TV wasn't working, none of the remotes were working, no Valet was available for parking of my car, the bed was so hard that I couldn't sleep at all. This is the worse experience I've got till today. I've booked my hotel Via MakeMyTrip, I'm black platinum member, and still MakeMyTrip also didn't do anything.
This place is the official residence of the erstwhile royal family. The family still resides in part of the palace grounds and some of the areas have been converted to a hotel.
Various types of rooms available as per your requirement. i stayed at the cottage rooms, which is a small structure behind the main building.
Rooms are big and airy and well appointed with basic amenities.
Sleep quality is average as personally i felt the mattress a little to soft. but i was staying only for a night, so did not raise an issue about it.
Need to appreciate the fact that they have tried to preserve the heritage and most of the structure, including the rooms are well maintained.
Did not try any meals except breakfast, which was okay.
Check in and check out process was quick.
Location is right in the middle of the town and plenty of parking space available.
Definitely recommended for a visit.
Great palace in Bhavnagar but needs better upkeep and rooms certainly need huge renovation. We stayed in heritage room. Rooms are very big, but furnishings need some maintenance and modernisation. bathrooms are big too, bathrooms were clean but not sanitary fittings are in dire condition, tiles are broken and overall does not feel great.
Food is less than mediocre, breakfast was cold and is not elaborate at all.
Staff is okay, courteous but certainly needs proper hospitality training.
Overall, property and experience does not match with other similar priced heritage properties.
Stayed in Heritage room. Had an excellent experience of the royal living. The service was excellent. The room was spacious and the furnishing had a royal vibe right from the bed, the Belgian mirror and the large bathroom. We were given a guided tour of the palace
The stay was very comfortable, felt like I was in a movie of "Bhool bhulaiya" or "1920",absolutely stunning ambience, this place is of historic importance, there are few places near Sihor like Brahm kund and Darbargarh which are very beautiful
There are no words to express my gratitude. It's such a great vintage property. I don't know how it's a possible to give such a premium property at very lowest price. Thak you Nilambaugh palace to add such wonderful memories in my trip. Must visit place.

The staff at Hotel Nilambag Palace epitomized exceptional service and hospitality. From the moment I stepped foot into the palace, I was greeted with a warm welcome and treated like royalty throughout my stay. The staff members were attentive, professional, and always went the extra mile to ensure that every aspect of my experience was flawless.
Wonderful experience as staying in royal palace, food also very nice and tasty. Overall good stay as location like Bhavnagar never ever. Recommended for others as well and always preferred same place in next trip.
