Aucune isolation thermique
Pros:

La salle de bain et l'emplacement

Cons:

L'isolation thermique entre les chambres non inexistante. Chaleur constante, obligée d'ouvrir la fenêtre avec bruits d'animaux !!

Ayarlanan oda bodrum katı gibiydi dışarı açılan penceresi yoktu. Işık almıyordu. Otelin yeri çok güzel ama odanın yeri berbattı.

Satisfactory at best.
Pros:

The bed was large and comfortable. The room was cleaned well when we arrived.

Cons:

Our toilet did not flush, so it sounded like a water fountain all night long. We asked them to fix it, translated to Turkish with difficulty. They said they would but they did not! The big shower head also did not work. The cleaner never came even though we put the sign on the door twice. We had to ask for more toilet roll, we didn’t get fresh towels. The room was smaller than pictured and had no balcony!

Pros:

Wir hatten zwei Doppelzimmer zur Einzelnutzung. Die Schlafzimmer waren hell, sauber, gut ausgestattet. Das Hotel liegt an der stark belebten Küstenstraße, beide Zimmer lagen aber nach hinten heraus und hatten einen Balkon mit Blick auf eine kleine Gartenanlage, so dass die Straße kaum zu hören war.
Das Badezimmer des kleineren Zimmers war ausreichend groß, gut ausgestattet und sauber, das Badezimmer des größeren Zimmers war weiträumig und fast luxuriös mit schwarzem Marmor ausgekleidet.
Genau gegenüber des Hotels liegt ein gutes Fischrestaurant direkt am Bosporus.
Die nächste Bushaltestelle ist etwa 100 m entfernt.
Es gab ein leckeres lokales Frühstück.
Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden und können das Hotel Mateo gerne weiter empfehlen.

Cons:

The window of our room overlooked the restaurant on the same floor. During the day, we couldn’t open the curtains because guests from the restaurant could easily see inside our room, which compromised our privacy. At night, the lights in the restaurant were left on, and the curtains in the room were not sufficient to block the light, leaving the room completely bright and making it very difficult to sleep.

I had also asked the receptionist during the day if I could book a taxi for 4:00 AM. I was assured that it would not be a problem and that I just needed to come by reception and one would be arranged. However, when I went down the next morning, a different receptionist informed me that the hotel does not provide this service. I was left stranded at 4:00 AM, without any assistance, no contact numbers, and no recommendations for an app or taxi service to use. I was simply told to “go out and find one yourself,” which was extremely stressful and unacceptable.

Pros:

Mateo staff are kind, caring and professional. The hotel was a joy to stay at! If you’re concerned about it not being on the European side, just be a bit clever with travelling options (e.g. the 15 bus to Üsküdar then a quick ferry to the very heart of downtown Istanbul at Eminönü).

Pros:

öncelikle sıcak su ile duş alamadık, resepsiyona sorunu bildidiğimizde 30 dakika içinde sorun çözüleceği söylendi ama çözülmedi, mecburen soğuk su ile duş aldık, odadaki telefon çalışmıyordu bu yüzden resepsiyona gitmek zorunda kaldık ve resepsiyon sorunumuz ile pek ilgilenmedi. Kahvaltı içinse selfie servis olduğu yazıyordu fakat sabah kahvaltı için gittiğimizde selfie servis olmadığını ve sadece bize getirilen tabaktakileri yedik. Kışın burada kahvaltı yapmanızı önermiyorum çünkü yemek yenilen alan yaz aylarına uygun olduğundan kış mevsiminde çok soğuk ve kapıdan gelen soğuk hava yüzünden bir an önce kahvaltımızı bitirip odamıza geri gittik.

Plan your new year stay at this hotel
Pros:

Everything was great, except the heating wasn’t quite right, and the water wasn’t hot enough. But other than that, the staff was super friendly. The lady who made breakfast was really nice and welcoming. The room was super clean, and there was a nice gift and flowers waiting for us. And the great part of our stay, we got to watch the New Year’s fireworks from our room.
