The Doorman Goethe

Checking in was very very bad. I did not receive the access code even though I registered through the official website. When I contacted them, they were not helpful and did not speak English. I waited in front of the building for 3 hours waiting to check in. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was very bad.

The Doorman has very nice rooms and an excellent location. The rooms were clean and there was a lot of space. However, the check-in process did not go well. There is no front desk so you have to collect your keys from a machine. Unfortunately our room had not been cleaned properly and so we then had to call to talk to someone who changed our room. This worked out fine in the end but was a bit of a hassle at the time.

Nicely appointed

The Doorman had a very comfy bed, fully equipped kitchen, great bathroom, air con and lovely balcony. Despite being in the city centre it was very quiet at night. The only issue, I was never sent access instructions and had to phone up! But I would definitely stay again.

Very nice room that is clean and well setup. Its a.bit small but it works. Very nice and well lit bathroom. Surprisingly quiet considering the accommodations are right in the old downtown area. Yhe ossue we had is that when you book thru expedia, you don't get the email to register online. We had to contact the hotel directly to help us get access to our room. They were very helpful vut hours of extra time were required to check in. Do not book this place thru Expedia!

A bit noisy during mornings and daytime with construction in the area. Not the property’s fault. Property was very nice.

Super zentrale Unterkunft in einem top Zustand.

Superb location near cafes, shops, a train station, the galleria complex, historical Rosenberg. Quiet locale. Nice patio. The bed & linens were very cozy, but I did get overheated at night due to them being heavier weight. Small, but nicely appointed bath & kitchenette. Highly recommend the picnik cafe around the corner.

Clean, modern, and safe. My only complaint is that there is no front desk, so if you are coming into town early you will need to figure out another solution to secure your luggage or carry it around with you until check-in time.

Le problème majeur était l'absence du code du wifi et malgré nos différents appels téléphoniques, c'était impossible pendant 3 jours d'obtenir ce code. Nous étions à Frankfort pour une raison professionnelle, il fallait donc sortir de l'hôtel pour utiliser l'ordinateur et le wifi.

Le monsieur au tel m’a envoyé à pieds à l’autre hôtel du même nom du Stuttgart
Tout ça pour rien car il aurait pu me donner l’info par téléphone

The hotel canceled our booking 14 days before our arrival without providing any reason. We had made the booking directly with the hotel 5 months ago. When I called to inquire, they were extremely rude on the phone. I cannot recommend booking at The Doormann in Frankfurt.

Due to some mix up, I was assigned a room that hadn't been fully cleaned. When contacted via phone the concierge was quick to re-assign me to a different room which was fully satisfactory in cleanliness. Included two small bottles of water, and two pods for the coffee maker. There was no iron / ironing board available to press shirts for business, and I found the pillows on the bed were excessively large. Maybe thin pillows would be available from the concierge, but I didn't think to ask. Otherwise the experience was very positive.

Great apartment, clean and modern, newly decorated/fitted, has everything you need.
Separate bedroom, lounge/kitchen and bathroom. Lots of space.
Perfect to bring our daughter back for naps.
Amazing location in the middle of town. Quiet apartment despite overlooking the Christmas markets.
Finding check in wasn’t the easiest - you go somewhere else to get a code so you then go to your appt building to use the code to collect the key from a box on the wall, and then you have to go in and out the building to walk across a courtyard to find your appt - not the clearest instructions, but the appt is worth it!
They never responded to my questions about a cot either so I would have to say poor communication.

The suite itself was clean and well sized with a small kitchen (that we didn’t use). It was really well situated for meandering through the Christmas markets and old town. My only complaint was that the WiFi for our room was very unstable; we had to connect to our friends’ who were starting in the room next door.

We booked the “executive” room with extra space and a fully functioning kitchen, including an oven. However, we received a smaller room with a microwave that had a “convection” setting. Initially, we thought it was false advertising. On the second day, we called the helpline to complain and in turn got our correct room.

Clarifications:

The executive room does have a functioning oven, but ensure you get the correct room.
The air conditioning does not work; the controllers in each room are not adjustable. (Could not provide a reason as to why.)
The rooms have a hair dryer, although it’s not listed.
The room is spacious with movable furniture and comfortable sheets, though experiences may vary.
Room service only includes bin changing; bring extra bin bags (We needed to provide our own, for a two-person, Mon-Fri stay).
Hotel key / card system is unique and simple.
For cooking, you WILL need to buy basic necessities like oil and tin foil.
The smart TVs work, but connecting a wireless device requires a passcode, which the hotel refused to provide. (Could not provide a reason as to why.)
No towel service was provided during our stay, which is usually standard in most hotels.
The lacking of a lobby / helpdesk was VERY noticeable with our problems on this visit.
Would we stay again? Yes, with the right room.
Would we recommend? Yes, for location, size, and quality. Does the listing need adjustment for accuracy? Yes.

A unique experience for a hotel, you are basically going to be staying in a condominium with every convenience you could ask for. It is located with restaurants within very short walking distance. The only thing you have to be aware of is that you have to pay careful attention to the emails that you receive as you receive a key from, a remote host dispenser, after hours there is nobody there.
