Location and the rooms decor, and the balcony.

The room is clean and spacious, and the bathroom is modern and well maintained. We were traveling with a 4yo, which meant many afternoon breaks spent inside the room, so having a spacious room was very important for us. Washer-dryer machines are very easy to use. Detergent is provided and within 2hr your clothes are clean and dry.
We also loved the unlimited coffee and matcha machine in the lobby. The location is perfect: it’s a 3-minute walk to a small shrine that looks beautiful and magical at night, an 8-minute walk to Sannenzaka, and a 12-minute walk to Hanamikoji Street, where you can sometimes spot maiko walking quickly to the ochaya if you’re lucky! Within about 15 minutes, you can also visit Yasaka Shrine or the famous Gion Duck Noodles.
Overall, a very comfortable and convenient stay, especially for families with young children.

Superb location, walkable to all the best sights in Kyoto. Staff went out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. Very efficiently run hotel, the rooms are very spacious, well equipped and comfortable - we had an absolutely delightful stay here. Best bathroom and most comfortable bed of our entire Japan trip! The breakfast was also really delicious.

Our room was absolutely beautiful. It was spacious (especially considering that Japanese hotel rooms tend to be quite small) and had plenty of furniture. The small tatami area by the window, with a futon bed for one person overlooking the beautiful streets of Kyoto, was absolutely a wow factor. The kids loved it. The view was fantastic—a wonderful bonus! The bathroom was also very clean and modern. The coffee, tea, and beverage area in the lobby was a very nice touch. Complimentary beverages were available 24/7, which we really appreciated. We will absolutely stay at Gion Elite Terrace again when we visit Kyoto. It was the best hotel of our entire vacation in Japan! The location was perfect as well—everything was within walking distance.

We booked the suit with the private Sauna. It was wonderful and exceed my expectations. The tub was big enough for two people, it was like our own private onsen. The free coffee & tea machine was wonderful. The Match Latte's were delicious. I originally wasn't sure about the location at first but it was actually a very good location in the heart of Gion, not a far walk from many attractions like Kiyomizudera temple. The hotel isn't located near a metro station but Taxis in Kyoto aren't too expensive compared to Tokyo. There's two convenience stores nearby to buy food. The hotel also has partnerships with nearby Kimono rental stores, you you can return your kimono at the end of the day right at the front desk depending on the rental place and package you buy. Staff speaks fluent English.

Location: the ‘main road’ is bit disappointing, but as soon as you cross it or go deep into Gion, you are in very nice area, authentic and charming. You can basically spend quite a few days exploring nearby and ignore everything in Kyoto which requires travel. Temples, pagodas, gardens and historic quarters - the area had it all.
Lots of restaurant options and main shopping area is also not so far away.
Spotlessly clean.
Balcony was nice to relax after the busy days.
Good friendly staff.
Very good omelette for breakfast.
