Pros:

Rooms were spacious and bright, complimentary tea and coffee machine by the reception was great as it was so convenient while going out or coming back. Gion is a very beautiful district and bus stop and combini are 3 minutes away. Front desk staff was the most professional and well spoken of our entire trip in Japan.

Cons:

Laundry was free, but as it was only two machine it was quite difficult to be able to find an available one, luckily we were able to manage on our fourth and last night of stay.

Pros:

One of the best hotels we stayed in japan. Rooms were large, the oxygen bath, the coffee machine that serves matcha latte, the bed was comfortable, good location. There was so much attention to detail at this property and staff were always so attentive. Loved every bit.

Buen hotel con excelentes habitaciones con buena ubicación.
Pros:

La habitación es enorme, la ducha más grande que he visto. Terraza muy agradable y en general todo perfecto. La ubicación muy buena siendo tranquilo y cerca de todo.

Cons:

Me cobraron 500 Y por la tarjeta que no aparecía. Debe de ser normal pero no me gustó. El restaurante es vegano y no pude desayunar ni comer.

Disappointing. I cannot recommend.
Pros:

The bed was comfortable. The balcony allowed fresh air in.

Cons:

The hotel lacks any of the decorum or amenities I expected from the pictures. The coffee from the machine in the lobby tastes terrible, to the point where we were buying coffee every morning. It got cold when I stayed in Kyoto and did not want to turn the heater/AC on because it smelled so strongly of mold/mildew. That sickly funky smell of wet dog was disgusting. Also the smoking room is right before the elevator entrance so the lobby smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. The laundry room (two washers, one dryer) always had someone else's clothes in it. NOT useful. Toilet siding was broken, toilet paper holder coming off the wall. Stains on the light switches. Lighting was harsh too.

There were hairs (brown, blonde- not my hair color) on the bed and furniture. I didn't trust the cleanliness of the bathroom. Our room had three of everything. It's set up for three, but i booked for two. Three sets of glasses and mugs, but only two tea bags. A detail that seems inconsequential but then I couldn't trust they cleaned the place thoroughly. The set up for room supplies like a toothbrush, etc. are also in the lobby for you to supply your room yourself. So weird. It's on the same console in front of the main lobby entrance with the coffee machine. The coffee machine I had to wait behind other hotel guests, making one coffee at a time. For a brown dirt worst than diner coffee coffee. The coffee machine is next to the water/ice dispenser that was constantly dirty with splashed coffee all over the water dispenser. Another example of no attention to detail. While the reception simultaneously stares you down your back 7 ft across the lobby.

The room was designed with no thought for the user. The balcony window curtains did not have a slit in the middle so opening the door and having to move the curtain over was so annoying. We barely got to enjoy the balcony. Make no mistake, this is the marriot in a small town with a fancy facade.

Wonderful staff who help make the trip memorable
Pros:

The staff were very kowledgeable, very friendly and took the time to help plan my itinerary which was much appreciated. They also helped plan my trip to the next city. Having an in-room sauna was also a good feature.

Cons:

The room was on the ground floor and was far too nosiy in the mornings - no chance of sleeping beyond 07:00.

Also the in-room sauna stopped at 60C which is not hot enough (my hotel in Tokyo is 95C).
