My husband and I enjoyed our 2-night stay despite the room being small.
Pros:

Efficient and attentive staff. Everything worked in the room. Location was in a nice, quiet neighborhood.

Great place to relax after hiking the trail!
Pros:

Wonderful Japanese hotel right on the Nakasendo Trail. Friendly staff and super clean rooms. Rooms are small but not unexpected in Japan. The breakfast is AMAZING. Best we had while visiting Japan.

Cons:

A bit overpriced for a "budget" hotel...but no regrets after staying there!

Pros:

The onsen is the absolute highlight of the hotel. It is so relaxing. The environment is very beautiful and peaceful.

I really liked the Japanese breakfast buffet, too.

There is an amazing (yet expensive) wagyu restaurant right across from the hotel. Worth it and very convenient.

I wish I had stayed for more nights.

I liked everything.

Near the Nakasendo Trail
Pros:

The public onsen was great. The ambience/decor was an “industrial/hip” vibe.

Cons:

There was no common space or lobby for gathering. When the rooms are very small this becomes more important.

Comfortable stay in a great location to explore the wonderful Nakasendo trail.
Pros:

Comfortable room (a little small) but w a spacious shower. Breakfast buffet was extensive w many Japanese dishes and some western offerings. We didn’t use the public bath but heard it was very nice. Great location and helpful staff. Overall an excellent choice in Nakatsugawa if one is planning on the doing the Nakasendo trail.

Cons:

Room was small but this was expected.

Pros:

The hotel was clean and comfortable.

Cons:

The process for removing shoes at the front entrance was unclear and the reception staff seemed amused at our uncertainty.
Very little western breakfast options.

An efficient and effective hotel providing everything you need with no frills. Easy walk to station.
Pros:

It’s a very efficient and effective hotel. The rooms are extremely small and simple but they have everything you need. The system of leaving the towels & garbage outside your room means you have fresh towels and a clean room without them having to clean the room. The breakfast is buffet so you can eat what you like. And there’s a nice dining area to eat your own food at any time of day.

Cons:

Nothing really. Only place to relax in the room is on the bed but not really a big deal.

Pros:

Breakfast was a very good Japanese traditional breakfast. Plenty of food. Quality was very good. Hotel was an easy walk from the station, it took less than 10 minutes. I would highly recommend it.
