Clean and good service
But the restroom use the sensor lighting. Not convenient at restroom. 1 min switch off lighting.

Hotels.com is a bit chaos when I booked the hotel. I booked 3 persons room but Hoshino only got ready for 2. Anyway, I did request them to arrange 3 beds in a room onsite. They agreed but dinner can't be ready in the beginning. Finally, one of the managers helped me to rearrange everything. So dinner and bed were nicely arranged eventually. I do appreciated.

Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, and a lovely open-air bath with a great atmosphere. The morning power walking activity was a fantastic way to start the day. Only downside—due to a recent landslide, the usual forest view is currently partially available.

Loved this property. It’s set in such a beautiful location. We choose a room with a private onsen, set on a balcony overlooking the mountain. It was quite an experience soaking in the tub watching the snow come down. The dining experience was great and food was delicious. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Nice onsen hotel in a small, quiet town. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and made with local ingredients. Noon check out time was amazing for a relaxed breakfast and morning soak.

Lovely, clean hotel with stunning vistas and gorgeous rooms. Staff were fantastic, friendly and helpful. I cannot say enough about the talented chef and the wonderful menus that change daily. The food is well presented, pleasantly served and tastes incredible. I highly recommend the Hashino Kai Unzen.

New hotel so all the conditions are very well.
Staffs are helpful and English speaking quite good.
Onsen is beautiful and comfort.
Meal is course by course that’s excellent taste.
But the landscape view has just been destroyed by landslide recently, so in the room you’re facing the “real” hell slope
