Great location including onsen but slightly overpriced
Pros:

Super friendly and helpful staff, very cozy and clean rooms, and a wonderfully relaxing onsen after a long day of skiing. Great location: Seki Onsen right behind the house and easy access to the rest of the Myoko ski area. Option for a simple but good dinner.

Cons:

Rather expensive, while breakfast and dinner are quite basic (compared to other accommodations). The public free parking is a bit further away, but still easily accessible.

Stanze molto belle e curate.
Personale super gentile e disponibile ad aiutare quando possibile.
Posizione ottima se si vuole sciare a Seki Onsen.

Cons:

Non c’è parcheggio davanti all’hotel ma a 3 minuti a piedi circa ai piedi della collinetta, è comunque molto gestibile e comodo

A great experience from the day I booked to being dropped off at the station. Loved our stay.
Pros:

Nestled in the national park the area has an old world charm. The hotel was clean and modern, everything was super comfy and the staff were incredible! The breakfast was great and the set meal for dinner delicious and very traditional.

Cons:

Removed from the main area, a 15 minute drive but staff accommodated us with transport and restaurant bookings.

Clean and wonderful stay
Pros:

We stayed in the family room which was spacious and perfect for us. We had dinner one night which was lovely and the staff are very friendly. David particularly is extremely helpful with getting us around and sharing information.

Cons:

It’s perfect for skiing Seki Onsen but if you want to ski the other areas, you either need a car to get around or need David to drop and pick you up! I would recommend having a car.

Fabulous hospitality.
Pros:

Incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. Delicious home-made Japanese meals. The option to eat the evening meal there was so convenient and relaxing. Very comfortable rooms with ensuites and TVs with streaming services. Hotel onsen also a big plus.

We had a comfortable stay at Komatsuya and we made new, wonderful friends. Highly recommended!
Pros:

Our objectives for the trip were (1) to learn more about Japan beyond Tokyo's business districts and (2) to do some skiing. Objective #2 was met: we had four very good days of skiing, in various conditions. As for objective #1, Komatsuya helped exceed our expectations: David (the owner) kindly drove us around wherever we needed to go, Izumi-san cooked wonderful Japanese food for breakfast and dinner, and Yukiko-san introduced us to the local attractions and helped us with the schedule and reservations. The room was clean and spacious and the onsen was an outstanding way to wrap up our skiing days.
But beyond all this, we felt like we gained a new family in Japan. We will remember our stay at Komatsuya very fondly because of David and his team and, should we come back to ski in Japan again, I can't imagine staying anyplace else.
