My family loved our one night stay at the Fairfield Mariott's Higashiura. Plan to go back soon.
Pros:

I've never stayed overnight on Awaji Island because I live not too far away. This time, however, I decided to take my NYC guests to the island and stay one night. I wish I had stayed at least 3 nights! I booked two rooms with a view of the water, and it was a picture-perfect sight as we stepped into the room. The twin beds were very comfortable, and the shower had both handheld and rain shower heads. The 24-hour service area by the welcoming lobby was so convenient: it had an ice maker, a coffee machine, tea bags, and instant miso soup packets, paper plates, ice buckets, and a scooper. But I think the best of all was the courteous staff who went beyond their job descriptions to assist us when my husband forgot his backpack by the hot spring or in the cab. Thank you, wonderful Fairfield Marriott's staff.

Cons:

I wish there were a restaurant, but I knew there wasn't going to be one and planned accordingly. There were vending machines, though with a variety of drinks. There were also other dried goods, such as Cup o ' Noodles, chips, cookies, etc.
