Perfect stay at Suzumeya! Lovely, helpful staff, great atmosphere, the perfect base for our last couple of nights in Japan.
Wonderful stay! We stayed only for one night, but it was worth it! The staff was also super friendly and helpful. It is as advertised a hotel with traditional charm in the middle of Tokyo!
The rooms are small but very functional. Even though we have 4 luggage, the staff helped us get through the steep stairs and there was enough space for everything.
The location is so close to the Tsukiji Fish Market so you can wake up early and get your fish and/or seafood fix!
I highly recommend staying at Old House Suzumeya. The setting is exactly as described and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Do yourself a favor by staying here!! Shower is a bit small but that is typical of Japan. I wish I could stay in Tokyo longer so I could stay at Suzumeya!
I can only recommend, tidy , clean, next to Tsukiji fabelous fish market. Very nice warm welcoming people as well.
Love this place and the staff. So kind and gentle. It does give a feeling of coming home after a long day, and greeted so warmly. Breakfast is comforting and lets you take time to relax. It’s great it’s next to the fish market too, to get there early and avoid crowds and long lines. It’s about 20 min out of the way for most places besides Disney resorts, but it’s nice being on not so crowded trains, and the area is quiet and safe at night to walk around. Staff is also knowledgeable about where good attractions are and will really try to help.
We stayed for 6 nights and yes the showers were shared, and it can be cramped. I personally didn’t mind it, and people wake up at different times. The room was quite big, honestly. The bathrooms and showers seemed to be always clean too.
Oh and the beds were sooo comfortable! Had great sleep every night.
I would definitely come back next time I’m in Tokyo!
