A “4-star” hotel that is literally crumbling. Great location and lovely staff, but nothing else
Pros:

The location is excellent, just a two-minute walk from both the bus station and the subway, which makes getting around the city effortless.
The staff are unfailingly polite and genuinely helpful, and they did their best whenever we needed anything. Sadly, no amount of good service can fix the fundamental problems with the hotel and its management.
And that’s where the positives end.

Cons:

This hotel is advertised as 4-star, but it falls short of what you’d expect from even a basic budget stay.
- The noise is unbearable. On Fridays and Saturdays, sleep was simply impossible. I cannot understand how a 4-star hotel on such a busy street has never invested in double-glazed windows. Being able to sleep is the most basic requirement of any hotel, and this one fails at it.
- The room is literally crumbling. The bathroom door frame is barely attached and shifts the moment you touch it. Half the plugs are in the same state, hanging 15 cm out of the wall. On top of that, our window wouldn’t close properly for half of our stay, which only made the noise worse. The bedside lamps didn’t work either, and when they were finally repaired after repeated requests, they were rewired so that each switch turned on both lights at once, making them completely useless.
- Hot water and Wi-Fi are both incredibly unreliable. If you decide to shower after 11am, enjoy your cold-to-lukewarm shower.
- Then there’s the cleanliness, or rather the lack of it: the bathroom is full of mold and looks as though it hasn’t been deep cleaned in years, with mold and dust gathering in every corner. Even the slippers provided were dirty, and we had to go out and buy our own. Daily housekeeping is held to the same dismal standard. The sheets were rarely changed, and when they were, they were literally just tossed onto the bed, covering barely 70% of the mattress. You could end up sleeping with your body directly against the bare mattress, which was itself dirty and covered in stains.
- As for the breakfast, it’s fit for the palate of a five-year-old. It was so mediocre that I ended up skipping it for most of our stay.
Until management invests in basic maintenance, proper cleaning, and soundproofing, this hotel should not be open to guests.

* Excellent location: The hotel is in a great location, with easy access to Taksim Square and the metro.
* Friendly staff: The staff were kind, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay.
* Excellent housekeeping: The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the room clean. They were very friendly, responsible, and professional.

Cons:

* Poor ventilation: The room’s ventilation system had issues, and the bathroom had no proper ventilation. Whenever we returned to the room after being out, the bathroom often had a very unpleasant smell. On one occasion, we even had to ask reception for an air freshener.
* Heating problems: The heating system did not work properly during the first three days of our stay. Despite repeatedly following up with the staff, it took several days to get it fixed. The room was genuinely cold, and the air coming from the system was freezing. Fortunately, the heating worked properly once the issue was resolved.
* Non-functional TV: The TV appeared to be a smart TV with YouTube and Netflix, but neither app worked. The apps would not open and kept crashing, making the TV essentially unusable.
* Very poor Wi-Fi: The internet connection in the room was extremely slow and kept disconnecting. Even when it was connected, it barely worked properly.
* Very small elevator: The hotel elevator was extremely small, with enough space for only two people at a time. This meant we often had to wait a long time to use it, as it could only transport two people per trip.
* Smoke smell in the corridors: Although smoking was prohibited, the smell of cigarette smoke was often noticeable in the corridors near the guest rooms.

There is a Receptionist called Mariam, she is Amazing super helpful and decent very friendly and made our checkin process very easy, she is Egyptian and we felt home when we met her

Pros:

The staff at the hotel is very welcoming and helpful. Special mention Mr Fatih at the reception. He cooperated to change our schedule, help us with local information and gave us a lovely room. The breakfast is a good spread and the restaurant is good. Location is fab, just a 2 min walk to Taksim square with plenty of shops and eateries around.

Cons:

Would have liked more hot dishes served at breakfast. Maybe omelettes once in a while
