Perfect place to beach activities
Super convenient location to shopping, restaurants, bars, the ferry, etc.
The rooftop pool was a great escape and an excellent view to the ocean.
Service was excellent
The beach is just a short stroll of one small block away. With the plaza, restaurants, pier, and shops only steps from your door, and even a pharmacy next door, everything you need is within reach. The staff members are genuinely helpful and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances your experience.
Like how close it is to the fairy
I like my experience swimming on the roof top.
Check in was amazing the lady who helped us was beyond exceptional
If nothing goes wrong, I imagine this isn't a bad place to stay. But when it does, WATCH OUT! The management will do nothing to make it right.
We went to Cozumel to dive and decided to upgrade our experience by staying downtown in the "thick of things." Coralia Hotel was more than other things around it, but we thought it would be worth it to be centrally located, and we like the idea of sunsets on the rooftop by the pool.
Things went fine for the first few days. Then, we came home after diving and dinner to find a leak coming from the ceiling - and there was enough water on the floor to be concerned. We went down to the front desk and they sent up a maintenance person to see what was going on.
After about an hour of checking, going in and out of the room, going to the roof (we were on the top floor for rooms - the rooftop pool was on the floor above us) we were told by the front desk manager that there was a bad water filter and that they would be working on it tomorrow. Unfortunately, it was Saturday night and they "don't have any other rooms available. Here's a bucket to catch the water..."
Yeah, so not great. But we were willing to put up with the constant "plink, plink, plink" knowing that they would move us the next day.
Then the worst thing happened...my wife got an attack of "traveler's belly" at 2am and ran to the bathroom. Unbeknownst to us, they had TURNED OFF THE WATER TO THE TOILET. So, as she ran back and forth quickly filling the toilet bowl (TMI, I'm sure, but you get the sense of things), I went downstairs and to talk to the nighttime front desk manager.
They told me, again, that they didn't have any rooms. I said, "then get the maintenance person back."
"We can't. He's not available."
"then what am I supposed to do with my wife who's currently going to overflow the toilet."
"Um...there's a toilet on the roof. She can go up there." At this point I told the manager that I would expect a full refund for the night (at least) because of the fact that we did not have a working room AT ALL. Not to mention my wife was going to have spend the rest of the early morning on the roof?!
So, got the wife settled on the roof starting at 5:30am so that she had easy access to the toilet. Not good.
She had to endure people coming up to watch the sunrise, go swim, do yoga. All while moving back and forth to the *public* bathroom. The last thing you want when you're sick is to be around other people. And yet...this was their best option.
They finally moved us into another room (with a working toilet, for the record) which happened to be the first available from someone checking out at 10:30. I again told now a different front desk person that I wanted remuneration for the night. The front desk person told me that there was nothing they could do and I would have to call customer service (which I believe to be the owner).
Then started my odyssey with Fatima, the "customer service" person. I explained the entire situation - including the fact that we did not have a working hotel room. She said, "well, we moved you into a premium room. We consider this matter closed."
Moved us into a premium room?! The room was a little bigger an faced the plaza (which meant it was louder and actually less desirable than our original room). They actually moved us to the first room available, which HAPPENED to be a "premium room." I explained this and confirmed it with their front desk.
I'll be honest - in retrospect I wasn't asking that much. In my opinion they should, at the very least, refund me $210 (the cost of the lost night). And, if they were interested good customer service they would do more. I explained this to Fatima. Nothing. "We moved you into a premium room. We consider this matter closed."
Finally, after 20 minutes of going back and forth, explaining that we did not have a "working room" and the embarrassment my wife had to endure on the roof, desperately trying to appeal to her sense of "is this what you would expect if you were traveling?" sense of being, she said that she'd "look into it and call get back to me the next day.'
Shocker - she did not get back to me the next day. I called the customer service number again (this is now Sunday) and got no answer, so I left a voice message.
Nothing on Monday, so toward the of the day I again called. No answer. Then I found their WhatsApp and sent a message through there explaining everything above and my expectations - refunding of the night in question, at least.
We checked out on Tuesday and still had received nothing. No communication. Nothing.
Finally, late Tuesday I received a whatsapp (no call) "We'd like to apologize. As an act of goodwill, we'd like to offer you a free night's stay to be used by the end of the year."
I'm sorry, what? You are asking that I come back to Cozumel within 9 months and stay at your hotel again? Really?!
All I asked was for them to do the right thing. They simply refused. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible.
Great location. Clean and neat rooms.
Nice small pool.
This property was renovated last February and was very clean uncomfortable. The rooms were small but had everything we needed! Francesca at the front desk was amazing. She made me feel important tended to my needs and was efficient kind and really made me feel that I was a cherished guest at this gem of a hotel. The hotel is in walking distance of absolutely everything and the choices of dining and activities are limitless. I would highly recommend anyone to stay at this hotel, my experience was stellar!
We stayed here for 1 night and wished we could have stayed longer. Location is great 5 minutes from the ferry terminal.
Reception was clean and Francesca was really helpful and showed us personally to our room.
Room was super bright and airy, (103) overlooking the main street.
Rooftop terrace and pool is super chilled offering views across the main plaza and towards the sea.
Free coffee and pastries throughout the day.
Plenty of bars and cafes to buy meals from breakfast to dinner, we enjoyed Ambar next door super friendly and didn't rush you.
Fantastic hotel downtown 5 minute walk from the ferry port. Next to the main square.
The staff is fantastic and the rooftop is a great place to get away for awhile.
Well what can I say,an excellent hotel 5 minutes from the main ferry terminal.
The reception (Francesca) was super friendly and quick. We were shown to our room which was lovely and bright.
The amenities in our room (103) were great, which included a decent hairdryer, towels for the bathroom and rooftop pool, netflix is available on the large TV.
The roof terrace gives fantastic views across the town and sea.
Breakfast isn't provided however the lobby has free coffee and pastries throughout the day.
Would thoughly recommed this beautiful gem of a hotel and we will return
Great location, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff onsit 24/7
Great experience! From check in with the delightful Francesca at the front desk to the comfort of the bed, we were very happy with the Hotel Coralia. It’s located just off the Benito Juarez Park so there are many delicious restaurants and tourist shops within a short walking distance. Quieter than being directly over the square! We were there for a scuba trip and would grab a prearranged taxi at the corner with our friends and it’s about a 15 minute ride to the Marina Fonatur, where the dive boats depart. If you want to go the ferry to get to Playa del Carmen or to grab a taxi, it’s about a 5 minute walk. There is someone at the front desk 24/7 so if you need anything, or just want to go in/out late at night, you feel attended to and secure. Refrigerators in every room, and coffee, tea, fresh filtered water, & some bakery snacks are available in the lobby. The small balcony area is nice for a bit of fresh air and the only suggestion I would make, is for the hotel to install some sort of hanger or bar there (as well as in the shower) for guests to hang scuba/swimwear to keep the room tidier. Queen sized bed, waterfall shower, and pleasantly scented soap/shampoo/conditioner in larger refillable containers to reduce plastic waste. Pool area looks very nice although we did not use it. No pool bar currently but it looks like it was in process.
Truly unhappyv overall. Room is super small. I had the superior rim and it was like a tiny box. No hot water when i checked and a frustrating process to get a room with hot water. Safe didn't work and no instruction. Bathroom is riny.... I'm short and pretty small and i had to squeeze in and out between the toilet to get into the shower. Bed was not comfortable. Bedding itself was nice.. Smart tv was nice. For the price of this room , I could have booked something much nicer. Shop around and skip this place
Excellent property. Beautiful and very well-kept
Beautiful property. Service was excellent. Little bit loud outside but that’s because of the district which I loved. Would highly recommend this hotel!
We just returned (11/1/2024) and stayed here for the last night of our week at Cozumel. This was our fourth visit to the island, and our plan was an all inclusive for 3 days(buffets get old), a breakfast only for 3 days(to eat at local favorite restaurants), and Coralia at the end for ease of access to the ferry pier and a bit of savings on our last night, also to avoid a cab fare. The property met and surpassed all of our needs and was a pleasant surprise in the end. We typically grab all of our souvenirs on our last day, return our rental car and go on foot, so the location was absolutely perfect. The room was very modern, and pleasantly immaculate. The bed comfy, the bathroom clean, the shower was hot and the largest rainfall style shower head of our entire trip, and the morning coffee and pastries were much appreciated. Francesca was the receptionist that greeted us and she spoke incredibly good English. She had a few suggestions to offer for shopping and food locations as well which is always nice. The pool area on the roof was very well kept with plenty of room and chairs for sunning or lounging. As aforementioned, the elevator was out of service, but scheduled for repair within the next few days, so don't let that dissuade you. If you just need a night in town, or wish to stay in town to be in the thick of it all, this place is perfect and makes good on all it's promises! We really enjoyed it, and we hope the staff enjoyed the candies!
Situated in a strategic location, it is very close to restaurants, shops and the pier. There was a nice restaurant and a pharmacy next to it as well as a convenience store just at the next street so it was easy to get everything we needed. The room was spacious enough and daily cleaning available. Guy from front desk was very friendly, he gave good suggestions on restaurants and cafes. Only downside was that the lift was not working so it wasn’t easy to bring down our luggages, netflix also only had I think 4 or 5 available users so there was a time when we got kicked out of netflix as there were others already watching from the same account. 😆 Anyway we didn’t really stay much as we were out and about exploring the island.
Amazing service! Clean and the housekeeping was amazing, front desk was so friendly and helpful! Francesca recommend great stuff always checked in if we needed help. We were right in the centre of Cozumel everything was nice and close, enjoyed my stay will definitely recommend for other visitors!
